Default Weed not =ing sleep

A lot of people say smoking a bowl before bed helps you sleep.
I'm the opposite. I get zonked out so I WANT to sleep but my body just won't GO to sleep.
I layed in bed 6 hours not doing anything but trying to sleep after smoking not even a bowl of left-overs and resin.
Even when I try and actively relax my mind and body.. I forget after a few seconds and I'm on another track of thinking.

Any suggestions?

if weed makes it so you cant sleep, i'd advise NOT smoking weed when you're going to bed soon

Depends on what kind of bud you're smoking... Indica strains tend to be more sedative for the body, Sativa strains on the other hand keep the mind stimulated and awake. I would suggest smoking some kush at night!

funny this is on here because just last night i smoked and was really tired and couldnt sleep, most the time i sleep very well though so i really dont know. It used to make me very hyper too, where the first times i would smoke weed i wasnt really tired either, now that is different i sleep very well, except last night.

Thank you everyone for the comments. I realized something big that was probably contributing to not being able to sleep lately. I recently raised my dose to 200mg and zoloft is known for keeping people from sleeping- some people atleast. so I'm starting them in the morning instead of before bed.

Also, dont smoke BEFORE bed, smoke like 2 hours before you plan on going to sleep. because it's not the high that makes you sleepy, it's the comedown.

yeah that's what I was doing wrong. I'd try to do some other stuff before but I'd get too zonked out and couldn't really function. So it wasn't 2 hours usually

Yeah smoking 2 +/- hours before sleeping is the best way to not only get the most out of the weed but to fall asleep. I tried smoking directly before sleeping and I just zoned out for around three hours...which was cool, but it didn't have the desired effect. In fact the times where I did fall asleep right after smoking I would wake up as soon as the high wore off without being able to fall back asleep. Not sure if that happens to others, but it does with me.

ya i get that way too if i smoke a bowl right before bed i will lay awake and just think of a bunch of shit and wont be able to concentrate on getting to sleep, but usually no matter what if i lay there for a while i will end up getting to sleep. so my best advice for you if you just cant get to sleep and it is bothering you, would just be to smoke like an hour or 2 before you want to go to bed that way your high will be gone and you will just be relaxed!!
