Blunts Popular With African Americans

Why is it that african americans enjoy blunts so much? Most rappers (Biggie, Snoop, Red Man, etc) all seem to sing about "rolling el's" and what not.

They allow more of the herb to be packed in compared to a regular zig zag; it's more ''disguise-able" to be toking a cigarillo versus a zig zag in public; it's fashionable and renders a 'cloaked fragrance". I guess if Kid Rock was shown blazing from blunts it'd be evident that country singers like pot also.

im hispanic and i'll never have enough blunts in my life.

some people have tried to tell me that blunts are an inefficient smoke as resin sticks to the weed and blunt wrapper. these same people toute pipes as better despite that resin sticks to the bowl and pipe anyway. the resin argument doesnt make sense since you end up burning through your resin anyway as the blunt gets shorter.

anyway, thats one of the reasons i like blunts. it's a sure fire way to get all ur weed smoked. i also like them for taste and aesthetic reasons. i really love rolling them and making them as perfect and round as possible.

oh ya! i forgot, they're easier to roll than joints! rolling a joint requires so much technique, but rolling a blunt is about as easy as licking an envelope.

i find this fact to be hilarious because people are often really, really impressed when i put together a nice phatty. i've taught a few people to roll 'em, and they're usually pretty surprised at how it's done. i spent less than 5min. talking to my gf about how to do it, and she did a near perfect one right after.

being so easy, perhaps a better question is why DONT some people like blunts? i guess they're kinda harsh sometimes and they require a lot of weed (unless u go mini, of course). the smell sticks around longer than just the smell of smoked weed without blunt paper, which would make it a bad decision for covert, in-home smokes.

It's more a cultural affiliation thing than anything else.
Blunts have become de regeur in Hip Hop.
Anyone notice how Apple pipes have suddenly become a big deal for white kids? Seriously, if I see one more picture in High Times of some dude from yet another skinny butt suburban mall rat "alternative" band I've never heard of abusing perfectly good fruit, I'm going to stomp off in a self-righteous huff!
At least blunts were made to smoke in the first fuggin' place.

haha yeah i enjoy a nice blunt too, i love rolling them as well. its just when i see a black smoker, its usually a blunt they smoke.

I agree with dirtbomb, its all about the culture. I'm black and I love blunts. But if you're getting a resin buildup, its usually something you did during rolling. I can roll a joint faster but I smoke cigarettes sometimes so a blunt is a nice medium.

My black friends won't use my vaporizer or bubbler : ( They insist on blunts every time we smoke. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love blunts, but I just find it odd.
