Dude Im sorry but that is kind of annoying to me, I mean out of experience, what about the hundreds of thousands of us that swear by bongs because you can smoke so little bud, take a few massive hits and higher than any other way? It's studies like this that seed mistrust from the toking community towards "scientific" studies being done on marijuana.

Well for starters that's not everyones opinion. To me personally, i've found you need more weed for a bong than a pipe. In any case the study doesn't go by feelings. It looks at physical amounts of thc in the smoke. I guess you can interpret that any way you want.

While waterpipes may filter out more THC, they also are much more efficient with herb than say a joint or a blunt. You only take in about 30% of joint THC while you take in about 80% of bong THC. Also I belive the cooler the smoke is the less harmful it is to your lungs. As such you get higher from less marijuana, and the smoke is cooler and does less damage to your lungs. Cheers.

You're annoyed by facts that don't support your position. That's human nature. The reason you get so high from using a bong is that you're getting those massive hits. My experience, from over 30 years of regular use, is that filtering through water is the least efficient method I've used. It's not a huge difference, nor is it the only factor in efficiency.

Use what you want, but don't try to claim your choice is the most efficient when the facts don't support it.

Everyone has their favorite way to smoke. Bongs can agreeably get you high with less bud, but I think if you hit the pipe or blunt hard enough it'll get you just as high.

after reading every post on this thread, i only have a little to say: I prefer bongs over... well pretty much anything really, some ice water with some straight fire weed=really really baked you know? But from my experience a bong does use your weed up faster, and in the long run of getting stoned, will use up more weed. I love takin huge rips off some cold/ice water, it just makes your hits feel better when they aren't burning your lungs. Bongs are the best in my opinion, i need a new one though haha.
