| Hi everybody. I'm new here. I'm stoned and i was thinking.. It find it innacurate to label one of marijuana's effects as "distorted perception." Of course i know where people are coming with that, but it seems like such an objective thing to say about something purely subjective. The description of "distorted perception" in this case sounds to me like a complete paradoxical statement - an oxymoron if two words ever formed one. I dont think perception can be distorted. Let me elaborate. If perception is subjective, then ever labelling the perception someone has of something as "distorted" would be completely unscientific and biased toward being un-stoned (..are you following me?) All THC is doing to your brain when its in your system is turning some parts on and off; enhancing a few while subduing others. And reality that is percieved is never absolute. So what gives? Distorted perception might be how you feel as you notice how different things seem when your stoned, but that observation is only relative to being normal. I dont know. One thought led to another with THC as their moderator and it all manifested itself in this post. What do you guys think? |
