| I was wondering if some of you would like to fill out this survey for me. I am going to use the compiled answers to write a paper on the value of formal education. Thanks in advance! • In general would you describe yourself as happy? • Where did you grow up? • Are you currently employed? • What role does your family play in your life? • What is the importance of college? • What is your ideal life? • What makes you happy? • What kinds of things do you do in your free time? • What is most important to you in life? • What do you think the purpose of education is? • How do you define intelligence? • Do you think other people view you the way you view yourself, and why do you feel that way? |

| 1. Yes, I'm a happy person mostly...although i have my bad days 2. Grew up in KCK, Olathe...spent time in a few other states as i got older though 3. Yup, currently employed in a technology firm 4. My family guides me as I develop into a mature man. We all have alot of growing and maturing to do, even if we fail to realize that. by family I mean my wife and two kids, my brothers and sisters, and my stepmom...my real mom has only made my life finacially and legally miserable and I hope she dies soon 5. College is only important if you go there for an education. Ive seen way too many people that are there cuz their parents are paying for it, and they don't take it seriously. Some people just don't belong in college...i didn't 6. Smoking weed, taking care of my family, and making more money than my wife or kids can spend...it's my goal to spoil them rotten 7. Family, weed, computer problems, friends, warm sunshine coming through tha window as I read while everyone else is asleep...afternoon naps...energy drinks 8. work on computers, cook, smoke, learn...I never stop learning or reading 9. That I live on in my kids, wife, and friends...memories and knowledge are tha only true keys to immortality. Whenever I hear my friends talking about some bit of knowledge I gave them, or see some behaviour my son's have picked up from me, I know my death will only be temporary. 10. Education doesn't teach us about tha world around us as much as it teaches us about ourselves. It is tha only true power in this world, and is way undervalued. 11. Intelligence is a trait that causes an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Creativity is tha ability to use and expand that knowledge. Intelligence and Creativity are our keys to survival. 12. Nobody views me tha way I view myself, because noone knows me like I do. Noone ever can excellent survey, I hope I helped |

| • In general would you describe yourself as happy? Yes. I get down, but who doesn't? I strive to be happy. • Where did you grow up? A very small town in Kansas. • Are you currently employed? Nope! • What role does your family play in your life? They're all very important to me, but have become sort of a pain in the ass lately. I have a good relationship with both of my parents, after a rocky pre-teen stage. I have 6 siblings and am only close to a couple of them, but not by choice. • What is the importance of college? It's more than a chance to get your education so you can someday be successful, it's a milestone. An opportunity to fuck up like you never thought you would, have more fun than you thought possible, and learn enough to walk away with no regrets. • What is your ideal life? Having a family that loves me as much as I love them. • What makes you happy? The people I love, books, art, music, Mary Jane...lots of stuff. • What kinds of things do you do in your free time? Smoke, read, listen to tunes, write, and look around on the internet. • What is most important to you in life? Being happy no matter what. • What do you think the purpose of education is? This is a stupid question. • How do you define intelligence? True wisdom is knowing only that you know nothing. • Do you think other people view you the way you view yourself, and why do you feel that way? I don't even pretend to know how other people see me. And I hardly care. |

| • In general would you describe yourself as happy? Very • Where did you grow up? Roswell, NM (no alien jokes, please) • Are you currently employed? Haven't been since 2003 • What role does your family play in your life? My daughter is my inspiration for everything that I do. Although most of my family is dysfunctional, they play a very big role in my life. I am very close with many, many, of my family members. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Mother & Father, and my Grandpa. Not a thing I wouldn't do for any one of them • What is the importance of college? Different for each individual. For some it's great for gaining further knowledge to gain more/better job opportunities. Wouldn't help me out much...I guess it depends on what you really want to do career wise • What is your ideal life? Being able to spend as much time as I can with my daughter, family, and friends. That impossible for me, because everyone is spread out through different cities/states. I'd also not like to have to worry about bills, or health issues for me or anyone else I mentioned above. • What makes you happy? My family & friends, money, sex, music, bud, knowing that I've been blessed by god & that I grew up into a strong man. Making my family proud • What kinds of things do you do in your free time? Kick it with friends, go to the gym, hit the clubs on the weekends, visit with my family, listen to music, chat on the comp, and the 420 Lounge of course. • What is most important to you in life? My family, no doubt • What do you think the purpose of education is? To teach the basic necessities of living in todays civilized society • How do you define intelligence? Retaining knowledge and experience • Do you think other people view you the way you view yourself, and why do you feel that way? I'm not going to lie...I'm a confident, and sometimes conceited person. Some people wouldn't hold myself in such high regards, but anyone who really knows me, knows that I'm a down to earth person.

| Sorry if this is posting twice. I tried earlier and it didn't work. • In general would you describe yourself as happy? Sometimes, yes. • Where did you grow up? Connecticut. • Are you currently employed? I'm not on the payroll anywhere, no. But I babysit and fill in occasionally at a law office I used to work at. • What role does your family play in your life? Only a small role. I live with my parents while I'm at school, but they don't have any real rules that I have to follow. But I love them and see them every day. My sister (who doesn't live at home anymore) and I spend time together every once in a while. • What is the importance of college? Very important. • What is your ideal life? Being married, with kids, making a lot of money at an interesting/challenging job, driving a nice car, living in a nice house. Being happy. • What makes you happy? Spending time with family and friends, making and spending money, taking a scenic drive on a sunny afternoon, eating cookies, getting good grades, getting high. • What kinds of things do you do in your free time? Sometimes artistic things - like painting a box or pictureframe, or making hemp jewelry. I usually listen to music, watch TV, go online, hang out with friends, smoke. • What is most important to you in life? Being me. And being happy. And successful. And meeting someone I want to spend the rest of my life with. • What do you think the purpose of education is? To learn or at least earn a piece of paper that says you learned something. Part of it is about the experience of actually attending high school or being away at college. But mostly it's about growing and changing as a person. • How do you define intelligence? Having the ability to absorb and comprehend new information, while also being able to remember things you've already learned. Being skilled and knowledgeable in a particular field is 'intelligent' to me - like someone who knows everything about cars or birds or plants. • Do you think other people view you the way you view yourself, and why do you feel that way? Sometimes I worry that people may think I'm a little weird. I look normal, but I don't always have much to say. It's not that I'm shy, I just don't feel the need to talk constantly - but if I've got something to say, I'll say it. I guess I worry that people may think I am unintelligent or just too shy because I'm not constantly chiming in with my opinion any time someone takes a breath in the middle of a sentence.

| • In general would you describe yourself as happy? I'm the happiest person I know ![]() • Where did you grow up? Small town in Northern Michigan...60ish people in my senior class. • Are you currently employed? Full-time student...trust me it counts as a job when you're taking about 20 credit hours ![]() • What role does your family play in your life? Most important people in my life. I'm honest with my family and they are honest with me. We have a very open relationship and I find that they are a lot better to be around and more helpful now that I'm older and more open with them. • What is the importance of college? Education is the only reason humans exist as far as I'm concerned. We were put here to educate ourselves. • What is your ideal life? A place with libertarian socialsm...wikipedia describes it as: The basic philosophy of libertarian socialism is summed up in the name: management of the common good (socialism) in a manner that attempts to maximize the liberty of individuals and minimizes concentration of power or authority (libertarianism). It attempts to achieve this through the decentralization of political and economic power, usually involving the collectivization of most large-scale property and enterprise. Libertarian socialism denies the legitimacy of most forms of economically significant private property, since, according to socialists, when private property becomes capital, it leads to the exploitation of others with less economic means and thus infringes on the exploited class's individual freedoms. • What makes you happy? Everything about being alive. • What kinds of things do you do in your free time? Play guitar, bass, or drums. Sing. Write about random stuff. Draw. Play computer games. More than anything I just like to sit around with friends and talk. Nothing can replace good conversation. • What is most important to you in life? The happiness of those around me and the well-being of my mind. • What do you think the purpose of education is? To evolve people to a higher state where we can use mind over matter and discover our true potential and purpose. • How do you define intelligence? In one way I would say the ability to survive without assistance is intelligence but that's basic crap. In another way I would say it is the ability to step into someone else's shoes and literally see things their way, not just pretend to see things their way. • Do you think other people view you the way you view yourself, and why do you feel that way? No, I don't let most people get to know me. Only close friends. I'm too weird for most people to relate to so I don't expose my true self around most people. |
