I need more options.....I don't "love" it (yet) but I don't "hate" it (yet) either. I'll need to see the end product, with the other color options, etc before I can make a fair comment. First reaction was "OMG...what do they DO??" but I guess its only fair yto give it a chance. Not a big fan of major changes in general, so that definitely played a role in my initial reaction.

The colors aren't my choice, but that's not my issue.

My desktop is 1280x1024, and the body of the forums (where the posts are) is comparatively tiny.
Also, the "Q" button at the bottom of the message is a bit ambiguous. I know it's for "Quick Reply" because it's in the same location as it was before.

Just my 3.1415927 cents.

I run a large resolution as well. 1680x1050 and the thread width is tiiiiny. If the width was a % of your total res. and not a fixed pixel it would work out better for us. But we cant always have what we want hehehe.

I'm in agreement here. If the body could be a percentage of total width, it would be perfect.

I voted "HATE IT" only because I don't particularly like it. There wasn't an alternative.

To me this looks cheap, I thought the original looked more polished, if its evolving then well see but nothing to write home about right now. Can't put my finger on it. I lloks like something I'd seen 4 years back.

PS I'm just reffering to the looks of it, not functionalty.

I only smoke legal herbs, when I come to these forums and discuss things like smoking and the high one gets I'm referring to the feeling I get from legal herbs and have no information on what others are smokeing or reffering to. I totally understand that; if you are on a resolution higher than 1024x768 then things are going to look small. If you're on a resolution smaller than 1024x768 then it's going to look strange too, but 800x600 is an outdated resolution and only a small percentage of our users actually use this resolution. So I had to design for what the marjority of the people on this site use, and that's 1024x768.

To understand this, take a look at, well, let's see, http://www.download.com/ for example. See how much room you have on either side? Designers can't design for everyone, they design for the majority, and at the resolution you are using, you should be quite used to having a lot of breathing room.

Third, it's easier on the eyes to have a column this wide. It's the same reason why newspapers put their columns like they do, so you don't have to scan all over the place.Heh, yeah I know. I had to make all those images and I did them real quick, couldn't come up with anything. Give me some time and I'll have new icons and images, I just didn't have time There will be, for all the forums. Have no fear. Yay does show approval, and you did use the word properly, but when doing the whole 'yay or nay' it's usually 'yea or nay' because yea is the opposite of nay.
