If I bust up my buds

Hey guys, quick question, im a recreational user who just bought his first half ounce. I was going to bust it all up in prepreation down the line because nows a good time (don't want to get busted getting it ready another day at home) but an ex stoner friend advised me that it would make it dry out way faster then if i left the big buds...is this true?

Yes it's true, it also loses a little flavor.

A friend of mine always breaks his buds up as soon as he buys a sack. We share bud with each other and neither of us has had a complaint yet. Give it a try and see if it makes any difference to you. If you don't like it, at least you'll know not to do it again.
