I was at a concert once and had to tell some dude to stop lighting the matches, that there were promotional lighters in the lobby (for some stupid reason). The sulphur smell was really noxious in a crowd of people trying to get stoned.

Well, if you're a match fanatic, so be it...

Seems like a waste to use a match, with it constantly going out and all.. unless you can keep it cherried after the first hit or two. Waste of matches, not weed..

Doesnt torch your weed? I dont know of a flame that doesnt torch the material it ignites....

As for matches in general, I dont see myself using any. Its the 21st century people, we've moved on from sulphur and sticks hahah.

I'll only use them in a pinch when I can't find a lighter. I had to use some the other night with my bong. Worked pretty well, the flame is easy to control, just need the weather to be calm.

i can't do the matches...they irritate me because i always seem to only light half of the blunt or so....i got myself one of those pretty wooden looking lighters so i look like some kind of respectable smoker or something ....i wouldn't give that thing up for the world. i goes with me EVERYWHERE i go.

I love that sulfer smell. We always keep a box in the bathroom, best deodorizer for us. I actually like using a Zippo. I burn my fingers on regular lighters. Even burnt some nose hair a few weeks ago while fishing, stupid wind caught me just right and *sizzle*
Man, the smell was horrible! Especially being that I did it to NOSE hair hehehehe

This is interesting that this topic came up seeing as my girlfriend and I were just experimenting with using matches to light a bowl. The only plus side of using them is they can be controlled nicely to allow multiple "green" hits much easier than a lighter...down side...you use a lot of matches.

I would like to try wooden matches though seeing as they are the only thing you are supposed to use for cigars, in order to have the most pure taste, which leads to me to wonder if the same would be true for weed. I haven't had a chance to pick any wooden matches up, so if someone has some...do an experiement and try the matches and a BIC lighter and see if there is any taste difference.

depends on the bowl size and where you are, you out fishing with your buddies no way, but you chillen and its whats sitting next to you why not, also I guess I do like them because i can make sure to light my joints and blunts even and I dont get stuck with a crazy canoe
