I prefer Sativas for getting high.

I prefer Indicas for medicinal purposes. I have a sleep disorder and it helps to suppress REM sleep long enough for me to get some deep sleep.

Actualy, did you know that the only type of sleep needed by humans is REM sleep, infact sceintists can't understand why we even have non-REM sleep. The thing that MJ does is suppress it longer so that you have one long continuous REM slep session, instead of multiple shorter sessions.

Having a severe sleep disorder for most of my life, I've read extensively in this area. Nowhere have I found what you describe. Stage 3, stage 4, and REM sleep are all essential for proper rest and recuperation.

I suggest you try going through life not getting anything but REM sleep and then come back to me and tell me how wonderful it is. It almost ruined my life. I was constantly exhausted and deeply depressed. I'd wake up each morning almost as tired as when I went to bed. I'd zone out during the day at work and see my constant dreams projected on the walls.

That's true for me because I have a sleep disorder that keeps the dreaming part of my mind active 24/7. I have a "dream track" running when I'm wide awake, which I'm aware of if I pay attention. Marijuana suppresses that for enough time for me to get a chunk of deep sleep every night. Then I go back to 24/7 REM.

It's not true for people with normal sleep cycles. Marijuana suppresses REM in the first sleep cycle, but then they go back to normal cycling for the rest of the night.

It is the only thing I ever smoked, I sereosly haven't smoked anything exept White Widow. Personally, I feel it also lasts the longest of all marijuana. (I sometimes feel a buzz the next day when I wake up.)

Sativa is what I prefer, however, most commercially available weed in my area is mostly heavy indica. It's rare that I get a hold of any sativa.

Definately Sativa because I rather be up and moving around with my high. Indica knocks me down with the ole 'couch-lock.'
