| I know several parents who smoke still an they have kids, alot of them smoke with there kids. It almost seems like it would be bad to smoke when you have a young child, but when they get older i think its all right. For me I will smoke when I have one, but never around them as a child, and when they are older I'll wait untl they decide they want to smoke to do it around them. What do you think? |

| No, but i will probably stop smoking long before i have a kid for job purposes. My best friend's dad smokes like a chiminy and managed to hide it from his kids until they were about 14. He keeps it to himself and doesnt talk about it or smoke with his kids, but we do pinch a bowl or two of his bomb ass weed every once in a while. If for some reason i find a job in the corporate world that doenst do random drug tests, i will never smoke in front of my kid and do my best to keep them away from it, but if they do decide to start smoking, i would light up with them if the opportunity arises. |

| I didn't smoke with my older boy until a friend of mine told me that his son and mine were caught one day after schooll tokin' up witih some girls.....I sat him down and had "the talk" with him about the dangers of drugs becomeming all encompesing in his life and he said, "No sweat dad, I have all my sports and grades up to par, I just like smoking herb, that's all.... I don't like other things espcially booze. A couple of drinks and I'm sick for days....." This is a serious lookin' woman, too......Some of his dads value system must have rubbed off on him...... ![]() Some Where In Ded Land.................

| I don't plan on having children, so I don't believe thios will be much of an isssue for me. That being said, should it ever happen, it WILL have an effect on my smoking habits. I won't be a parent who smokes in front of their children, nor would I feel comfortable getting extremely stoned knowing at any given moment, my child may need me.

| Depending on the newly acquired responsibilities of having a child, my smoking habit may adjust slightly. But I can function well while stoned, so I wouldn't be worried about being incapacitated when I need to be a parent. I probably wouldn't smoke in front of them, I'd just go in the other room, but aside from that, I can't see much changing. My mom made my dad quit when she had my sister and I, but I can't imagine much would be different had he kept it up. He started doing it more regularly after he retired (I smoked him up to celebrate ), but he's gotten tired of it and only gets high when he plays cards with his friends now.

| I smoke...got two kids and another coming. I smoke after those little heads hit that pillow....after story time and showers. I don't leave my paraphenalia out and keep tha weed talk down to a minimum. I, too, am worried about being too baked to respond correctly to an accident of some sort, so I tend to not smoke as heavily as I used to. sometimes I get ultrabaked...but then I got my wife to handle anything that pops up, and vice versa when she wants to get completely obliterated (when she isn't preggo, that is). Plus I know that no matter how high i am, it's only weed and I can push my high to tha side. |

| I quit smoking prior to becoming pregnant (approx 45 days ahead of "starting to try"), during the pregnancy, and for about 9 months following (basically as long as I was breast-feeding). Because I'm tiny, my babies were preemies (my body was just too small for twins). So, when I finally did start smoking I did so as far away as possible from the children's environment. The attic had a finished bedroom, so that's where I went. As they grew older, and asked questions, I responded with as much honesty as was appropriate to their age and understanding. So when they were finally old enough to know better, I would not have to be a hypocrite while discussing the various choices they would be making as adults. HMH |
