My mom walked into my room, where I have a bajillion blacklight posters, 2 incense burning and some sitar on the Stereo. She just said "Typical Pothead" and walked away. My question is, what is a typical pothead? The things I just described could just as easily be the room of a shroomer or an acidhead. What type of things do the "typical pothead" have and how do they act?

We'll, the popular public view of a pothead is a lazy, unmotivated, and dumb individual. Giving a description of a typical pothead is difficult because everyone has a different opinion. People of all sorts are potheads.

People are always calling me the typical pothead. Because of my long hair and how I act or talk. I dont know. With what I dress and all the reggae I listen to adds to the stereotype.

There is no "typical pothead". Some people like getting high then getting absolutely trashed. Others prefer to do it while hiking. I had a buddy at GA Tech that used to study after getting high, and he was as chronic a user as I've ever seen. He's a senior now with ~3.6 GPA doing arguably the hardest major there (Biomed engineering).

While it's true that it's really easy to just sit around and watch TV/play video games when you're stoned, there are still a good amount of people that could be classified as "proactive stoners".

i think you should go and stand in the kitchen door way when your mom is doing dishes or cleaning and then say "typical house wife" shake your head and walk away

They just know you're a marijuana smoker so they call you a "typical pothead".. seriously. People always start calling me "stoner" and "pothead" after they find out that I smoke. Like if I forget something "fuckin' stoner".. it must be because I smoke marijuana and not be because I am a forgetful person anyway.. to them

Certain things just seem "cooler" when your high. Sitars sound awesome, blacklights are way entertaining.

Thing is, most "off topic" psychedelics are used AFTER using MJ.

(yes im being uber paranoid after getting BANNED for mentioning a PERSCRIPTED LEGAL DRUG...anything besides weed is "off topic" from now on for me)

It's all about how you use it. I've smoked everyday for a couple years now and have made deans list both semesters ive been at music school as well as my roomate. We both smoke daily but wait until after studies. There's definetely a stereotype but that dosn't make it true. Most people think I'm staight edge.

there is no such thing as a typical pothead, its dumb when people call me tht cuz anyone can smoke pot, i know this one chick tht is far from wat people would call a pothead and i found out she smokes everyday but by herself cuz she doesnt want anybody to find out but sence i did now she smokes wit me lol. but there is no such thing.

I smoke almost every single day. I am a PE & Health teacher, I coach three different sports, I am an assistant athletic director, i played football for 12 seasons growing up, I write a sports column for a magazine that is getting set to release in a couple of months, I wear my hair very short, I usually wear athletic shorts or track pants and a t-shirt or a hoody (weather dependent), my favorite thing to listen to on the radio is sports talk etc etc etc.

I went to school and was in a rock band with a guy who has hair down to his ass, is all tatted up, has had a bunch of pet lizards and plays music all day, every day. He has black light posters, lava lamps, burns incense every day and preaches peace to anyone that wants to listen. The guy is 31 years old now and he has never so much as put his hands on an illicit drug in his entire life.

I would be willing to bet that most people wouldn't call me out of a line-up as the "typical pothead" but I am guessin my buddy would get tagged every single time. So, i guess my point is, who cares what a "typical pothead" is supposed to be? Life isn't about what people look like on the outside. Worry about who people are inside. That is what makes a person.
