| I know what drug war are doing to our society in general! Most of people will eventually learn that most of stuff which anti-drug people spew out... usually are 70% lies... so that opens the door for shitload of uneducated youths to start trying things based on their beliefs which is "all crap that anti-drug people have said are all lies" and thus leading to more deaths unless we stop pushing drugs away and embrace them... educate people of every one of these drug's effects and such. =D |

| If all of the drugs are legal, the government can regulate them and collect taxes on them. People should be able to choose to use them or not, and they sdhould have accurate information. If people make some bad decisions and become addicted, treatment centers would be available. This is much cheaper than fighting a "war" and locking up millions of people. It's pure evil, especially considering that the people most enthralled by the black market are going to be poor, and they are the ones that will be arrested. Meanwhile, the middle class and the rich arrest them while buying their drugs and fueling the market. It's an endless cycle. Government cannot stop the law of supply and demand.

| I hope someday, even if not in my lifetime the war on drug ends. Yes it is terrible, wastes money, ruins lives more than the drugs themselves, and is a violation of our rights as humans to consume as we please. Legalizing and regulating all drugs would be a-ok with me if we did it very carefully, and informed citizens. I imagine it will be a long long time before this happens. |

| Yes, I want the WOD to end. You know what I wish though? I wish it were more successful. Now before y'all lynch me, let me explain my reasoning... ![]() I wish folks couldn't find weed (except of course MM patients in MM states). I don't mean it takes a few hours or a few days...I mean it takes months to find a bag. I wish it were so expensive you would have to get a loan from a bank to buy a quarter. Maybe if it was a really big pain in the ass, then the 98% of tokers that don't do shit for legalization would put down the cheetos and get off their couches and actually do something to get it legalized. As long as it's easy to go get their toke on, seems most cannabis users don't really give a damn. At least not enough to even throw a few bucks to the folks fighting the fight, much less get out and protest. As long as they can catch a buzz, why put themselves out? ![]() Btw, if anybody really does want to help legalize the herb, support any or all of these organizations: NORML MPP DPA ASA LEAP

| Going along with what Plains said, I think that special efforts should be made to keep tabs on the drug-use habits of the wives, husbands, and children of all Members of Congress. If the greatest danger of using marijuana, involvement with the criminal justice system, struck close to home, they might be motivated to do something about changing the laws. Isn't it curious that, when close relatives of the wealthy and powerful get busted, they always walk away with a slap on the wrist?

| I do feel that I am one of a few who want weed to be legal so I can walk down to the store smoking a joint and not worry about getting arrested. This website isn't doing much to further the cause by having sponsors who do not wish cannabis to be lageal because then their "legal herb" business would immediately run out of naive young teens trying to get high on whatever they can get their hands on. There are many things we can do, some are small, some are big. If everyone slowly started smoking pot outdoors in civil disobedience eventually it would become commonplace and therefore seem like less of a threat to soccer mom and police. Anyways I've got a whole bunch of insight and ideas for this and think we should make some sort of town meeting to start a grassroots online nation of legalization. I'm available on AIM 24/7 and I think we need to utilize the chat more.

BTW, it isn't legal to walk down the street drinking a beer. If marijuana is legalized, what makes you think it would be legal to walk down the street smoking a joint? Quote:
Legalization would actually lead to less availability of marijuana to "naive young teens". Surveys show that it's much easier for kids to get marijuana than it is for them to get beer or cigarettes, because those products are legal, taxed, and controlled. Stores card customers. Dealers don't. Legalization might improve the "legal herbs" business. | ||
