I am trying to get a high tolerance for THC so I can stand with the 'big tokers' over the summer and all through college. I've been sparkin' everyday this week and 4 rips from my new bowl get me in the zone!

Yes, I would say I know someone who is (mentally) addicted to marijuana.

Whenever something gets stressful, the first words out of her mouth, always, are "I just need to smoke.". She buys a half oz (of schwag, because it "lasts her longer for the money") every two days or so. Even if she does not have a job (or money), she will beg, borrow, or steal to get a bag. She was raised in a home where 8/9 people are CONSTANTLY smoking, 24/7.

It's pretty sad, I think...

i was once addicted (mentally) to weed. i barely ever get to smoke anymore though.

i'm not addicted. i actually decided to stop for the summer and i have not had a problem stopping.

Cannabis in itself is not an addictive substance. Users who are 'addicted' simply have a weak and/or addictive personality and will become addicted to anything pleasurable - gambling, porn, etc.

Why on earth would you want to do that? I always thought it was silly for people to brag about how much they can smoke before getting stoned. Maintaing a high tolerance just so you can brag about it is nuts, it isn't anything to brag about IMHO.

Not for bragging purposes my friend. Considering the majority of the people I hang out with smoke alot, they all get together and hold incredibly long sessions. They all toke alot and reach a stellar yet enjoyable high and can still function. When I would join those sessions I would only blaze a quarter of what they were going through and be off my rocker. I would like to be where they are at so we can all enjoy it at the same time and same mindset. Obviously, everyone's body reacts different to marijuana but I am aiming to build up my tolerance. I am not talking to the point where I have to smoke an oz to get a buzz, not at all.
