| NO WAY absolutely not. for those unfamiliar, suetaz is refering to the fact that police may soon consider you testing positive for THC metabolites as driving drugged, even though you may or may not have been under the influence of marijuana while you were driving. because THC metabolites stay in your system for so long, i dont think that they shoudl be tested for in roadside drug tests. i think it would be much more accurate to test for THC if possible. that way you could tell if someone had just recently smoked, not that someone smoked in the last month.

| Thanks AnimalChin, I'm getting ahead of myself. I started this poll to go with an article that will be on the front page tomorrow about the drugged driving law proposal. Sorry Srvflunky420, I don't have the power to fix that vote, maybe Rick can. In my opinion, these tests are completely unfair and proper impairment testing needs to be created before this will ever be fair. More research needs to be done on THC impairment and proof needs to be provided to show that just because one has THC metabolites in their system, doesn't mean they are impaired. |

| H*** NO!!!! I think the new drugged driver laws are simply another way for LE and the government to apprehend as many drug (marijuana) users as possible. They know perfectly well that THC stays in your system for weeks afterwards. That's why they've pushed so hard to pass this. More arrests=more fines=more jails=more property seizures, plus they can continue to inflate their "addicts/abusers/dealers/" statistics to make it look like they're doing a heroic service to the community; getting those "evil pot smokers" not just off the road, but out of society where they can't do any harm. Who's gonna benefit from this? Who else? Police departments and the government. Anyone else smell pork around here? I understand MI, at least, has a tremendous backlog of cases because of this "zero tolerance" law.

| At the moment, absolutely not. There is now way to tell if you are driveing under the influence of marijuana or smoked it 1 week ago.

| Hell no, for the same reason others stated: you could be arrested for having smoked a month before you got behind the wheel, when obviously you're not impaired for a solid month. |

| I don't believe it is fair to anyone.Another way for corps to make billions more dollars and another way for the feds to control and intrude into people's lives whether they be users or not.I mean, everyone is guilty right? Even though they may have never used cannabis or even taken a drink in their lives.Everyone loses here imo but those that make all the money from drug testing and the politicos that want more power and control.

| Thats so stupid. Under what circumstances would a cop be alowed to test, if i have a sticker on the back of my car thats is a pot leaf thats just a dead give away. It sounds realy unfair. I would support test that could test if it was in your system from a few hours before but if i smoked last week and get pulled over and tested it would be quite unfair. Is this in effect anywhere or are they just thinking about it. What states does this apply to. |
