This pretty much ties right into the last poll regarding the speed of the new server. Looks like about 50% of our visitors still fell the site is very slow.

I'd like to try to get a demographic of the average Internet connection speed our visitors have.

I would guess that judging by the earlier poll, 56K users are going to be the dominant force...Could be just the force to make me change the page.

Its running pretty good for me on DSL here are the speeds that the site is loading at. The following are connection speeds that were obtained using the wget command, all speeds taken at 9:16pm EST.

well, thats good info and makes sense as well. HC.Com and 420.marijuana.com are served from a different, slower network than Marijuana.Com and Marijuana.Com/420

I'm on Cable as well, site loads just fine. Perhaps the stone-age users can access a text-based version (like the archives).

I'm a stone age dial up user on a 56k modem. I think the pages are loading a little faster than they used to, especially now that I have the adless interface (thanks again Rick! ). It's not cable or broadband speed but it's fine for me.

At home I'm on ADSL Lite, 1120 kbit/s downstream which is fast enough.

No idea what we have at the office, I think ADSL, a speed test at dslreports.com says I have a download speed of 746 kbps and a 93.3 KB/sec transfer rate (to LA).

I don't know how one goes about pinging each other with the wget command, I pinged marijuana.com at fifi.org (from my workplace) and got:
