smoked smoke the first time when i was about 21, tried 3 cigs in my life all after 21 and only because i was drunk out of my mind. Only tobacco I get anymore is the lil i have in the blunts i roll..

problem is that Cannabis and tobacco actually work rather well together.. in small doses.

WHoops! I didn't read the first post, and thought this was a History Trivia test. doh! Voted Cannabis but actually was given cigarette's by adults at the age of 5 and six, was addicted at six and seven, back in the day when parents and other relatives would send children to the liquour store to buy cigarettes for them, and the stores SOLD them to us.

First pot smoke was seeds, at age ten! For real, got high off the resin residue in the bowl, or just the the thrill of doing something I wasn't supposed to.

Picked up a cigarette habit on the school bus at 16, one cigarette a day to prevent the nasuea caused by the second hand smoke. Then I had some weed while totaly and completely drunk in the back seat of a car with a punk rock band and went from about to pass out to totally willing and able to dig a strangers care out of ice at 3AM, and hungry as hell too

Chains smoking tobacco started while cramming for a History test, that I aced. Daily herb smoking didn't occur for two and a half more years.

Weed rules, no contest. Weed does NOT lead to nicotine addiction, addictive personality leads to addiction plain and simple. I've known plenty of pot heads who made me feel like a guilty stupid arse because they didn't share my awful weakness for tobacco, not by anything they did or said, but the fact that I couldn't say no to Raleigh's Leaf of Death.

I think poll is going to be highly distorted. I have the strong impression that people who never smoked cigarettes are voting "cannabis first" because that's all they smoked. However the intention, I believe, was to poll the users who have smoked BOTH to see which they did first.

I voted Cannabis first...but now that i think about it...i smoked black and milds before I decided to give weed a try. Other than that I've never smoked a cigarette and I dont plan to...they smell horrible.

Tried a cigarette once never liked it.
Started with alochol first. Now barely touch the stuff.
Weed was actually the third I tried and has been my after work 'vice' ever since.

all cigarettes do (the few times i've tried a friends cigarette) is make me cough horrbily, i can't even inhale a single puff (and then i tell my friend how the hell can you smoke cigarettes, coughing your lungs out is cool or something?)....but weed I can smoke all day long with no problems.

never smoked cigarettes before and never will. well ok once I smoked a joint that was mixed tobacco and weed but I only took like one or two tokes and decided that wasnt for me.

My answer to the poll question is tobacco. I tried a cigarette or two when I was ten. I did not care for it and did not inhale. (that sounds familiar!) At the time I had not even heard of mj. Perhaps I led a sheltered life...

After the original article, rick made the following comment;

"Mixing marijuana and nicotine is like mixing beer and gasoline."

It's difficult to understand why no one took the time to comment on this "analogy." To be sure, tobacco is not good for one's health. However, one marijuana/tobacco cigarette or even a tobacco cigarette would not be, by ANY strech of the imagination be as harmful as ONE BEER/GASOLINE cocktail!
