Tobacco and alcohol are forbidden but mj is ok? Just wondering is all...

I read an interview of Donny of Donny and Marie fame and they asked him why Mormans have so many children. answer "We can't drink or smoke so we have to do something." Maybe someone should tell him it's ok to toke!

when I turned 16, bought Winstons to keep my cuz from snaggin' butts, yup smoked them nastly things years, switched to 'buros after Uncle sent to me to Germany. Was there until '82 How long do you think It took before me and buddies took a roadtrip north...before I smoked my first joint.
The hash was excellent back then....

the first time i tried a cig was when i was in third grade, however i never have goten addicted, so i voted for cannabis

Well, i started smokin' cigarettes when i was like 13. i did that till i was like 15..the nicotene addiction is tough. well then i hit my first hit of bud when i was about 16 from there i have been smokin WEED about 3 times a week;Can't get enough white Rhyno though.The stuffs good..!!!

I must say, I am completely surprised by the results of the poll, but maybe thats just because of the people I grew up around. The first cigarette I tried was probably when I was 11 or 12. I am a smoker now, but that habit didn't take hold until I was 14. (Wow, I guess I've been smoking half my life now. That's pretty eye-opening to me...) I tried pot somewhere between 12-13, but didn't really get into it until I was 18-20, as far as being a somewhat regular pot smoker. I live in a fairly Irish/Italian part of Boston, where the vice of choice has always been drinking above all else, which I believe leads quite easily into cigs...

I guess I can see how its is actually easier to get a hold of pot than cigarettes around me. I used to be able to get butts in a chinese restaurant near my house for as long as I can remember, and the gas station I usually bought from didn't card me until after I was 18, when I had been buying my butts from them for over 3 years regularly. After I turned 18, the major crackdown on tobacco started in my city. After a few places were fined and/or shut down (for alcohol problems as well as tobacco), I noticed fewer younger smoker, but not by a whole lot. Now, in my old high school, I know pot is regularly available, while getting butts is tougher than buying alcohol, as hard as that is to believe. Amazing what the results of prohibition can do...

I first got high(7th grade)in a pine tree 30ft above the ground with 3 other people.It took about 20 min to get out of the tree. I started smoking ciggys a year ago(17). I prefer cannibus!

When I saw the title of the poll I thought it was about when people started using cannabis v. cigarettes. Not individuals - the human race. I know that people used cannabis at least 5,000, maybe 10,000, years ago. Cigarettes were invented in Cuba sometime in the 1800s as a dainty substitute for a cigar. I'm a master of the obvious.

My Dad smoked and I always hated choking on the smoke in the car and the smell it left on everything. I tried a couple; didn't like cigarettes. I tried cigars and liked them less than the cigs. I loved the way pipes smell but I never learned to smoke a pipe so that it didn't burn my tongue and taste like sh*t.

Ten years ago a friend of mine who was hearing this story told me that I ought to go to a good cigar store and buy $10 worth of premium cigars. I did and I loved it. There were only minor cosmetic similarities between the Montecristo ($4) and the El Producto($0.35). {::I wax poetic.::} A good cigar tastes good. It smells good. It smokes cool. It feels good in your hand. It gives you a mild nicotine buzz. It burns slowly and evenly. The ash will hold together for a good inch, saving you from a lapful of ash. A good cigar looks good and makes you look good. A good cigar is like a melody. {::OK. Done waxing.::} I smoke one or two a week, outside or while I'm driving with the window cracked open a bit. (I don't smoke much in the winter ). I still hate the smell tobacco smoke leaves on everything.

IMHO, smoking cigarettes is a kind of slow suicide. OOH, I have nothing against suicide. OTOH, I watched my father die over a period of five years from lung disease. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I urge you to forego the Noxious Weed and smoke the Sacred Herb. And the occasional premium cigar. Hallelujah!

I never saw MJ until I was 18, so before that was only the two cigarettes. I didn't count them for taking the poll. I took to the MJ immediately and smoked steadily for 14 years. Then I quit for 20 years. I started up again a couple of years ago. It was just like riding a bicycle. You never forget how to roll 'em or how to smoke 'em.

I've only ever taken 2 cigarette puffs, neither of which i inhaled into my lungs, it was just to cover the smell before i went back into work (a few of us would go out on a "smoke break" and smoke a joint at last call), i didn't want to go in reeking of pot.

I smoked weed first and i don't really count those times as smoking a cigarette.
