| Funny how only 9% of the people in this poll are under age and unable to vote . |

| Whatever you say, HH. Perhaps I found it funny because this has already been discussed in at least one other thread and the outcome of that discussion has convinced me that the draft is the last possible thing anybody would want. But as usual, you know my intentions better than myself. ![]() Btw, don't remember if you've ever been asked...You served? ![]()

![]() I wasn't laughing at his/her concerns, I was laughing at his/her statement that GW wants to instate the draft again. If the war on terrorism actually gets rolling into WW3, I imagine age will have little to do with it. | |

| I am what one would call an independent voter. However, the problem is there is no viable third parties or candidates that will pack enough bang to go against the two big parties (Republicans and Democrats) who have been bickering about each other for decades and neither have done anything towards reforming or changing our flawed education system, our gigantic health care mess (if you are lucky to even have it), social security (we can probably kiss that goodbye by the time I retire), outrageous pork-barrel government and military spending, insane drug laws and mandatory minimum sentencing, equal rights for everyone, or any other broad range of issues. However... I so despise George W. Bush and his adminstration's policies (a failed 'drug' with Walters and Ashcroft, two totally mismanaged wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that have left the Arab world hating us and ourselves wondering why they want to kill us Americans, a huge national debt, a poor economy, the highest gas prices in over twenty years and the list could go on...) that I must vote for the 'lesser of two evils' so to speak since realistically John Kerry is the only candidate with enough 'power' to go against George W. Bush and all his brainwashed, god-fearin', Sunday-church-attendin', Republican conservatives that would love to turn our country founded on freedom into their perverted, white-bread conformity to sameness and inability to think for yourself type of Country. So, like Zombie I am not really voting for John Kerry, I'm doing the next best thing 'voting against Dubya'. Hell, at least John Kerry favors treating cannabis possession as a traffic ticket which is better than Bush and his facist DEA who break down your door in the middle of the night for an eighth of weed and your old waterpipe. And that's if they get the right address for a change. |

| [quote=psthbng]He's [john kerry] flip-flopped on almost everything he's said on the record. Well, I recall bush in his 2000 campaign saying he would leave marijuana issues up to the states. He outright 'flipped-flopped' about that one. What about his promises of tax cuts? I have in fact paid more in taxes since his administration took office. Guess Dubya flipped-flopped again. No Weapons of Mass Destruction as a cause for going to war? Gosh, Bush flipped-flopped again. How about him saying he wasn't in Iraq for the oil. Seems like Halliburton got a nice cushy deal. [quote=psthbng] And, finally, what makes you think Kerry is going to do anything concerning our plant? Well for starter's John Kerry spent awhile as a prosecuting attorney before he became a Senator and Presidential condender. He openly admitted as a prosecutor that he considered marijuana possession much like a traffic fine and that he didn't see possession of small amounts of marijuana as that big of a deal. That is much different than George Bush who happens to be a born-again Christian cocaine user who may or may not have flipped-flopped his 'military career'. |

| I'm voting for bush for finally doing something, like taking out sadam. for those of you who watch the news, they are very left winged, wich means they only show what would make bush look like an ass. In fact, about 80% of all iraqis are glad that bush did this, expectially the olympians, now they can loose and not get tortured for it. But i'm afriad that our votes wont really matter anyways. If this country doesnt rage against our machine, we will either be a 1984 or (my personal favorit) a Brave New World. so think of the future, do you want to be kerry's 1984, or Bush's Brave New World? i'd advise you to atleast look at the spark notes on those to books before replying in discust! |
