And a lot of those top ten are vanilla-based.

...I used to LOVE chocolate ice cream, like double-chunk, the fudge brownie, etc., but I love a good bowl of vanilla ice cream, especially if it's real vanilla (made with the beans so you can see the specs). I like Cookies & Cream though and Cookie Dough

Butter pecan is the 3rd most popular ice cream? For some truly strange reason, this angers me to no end.

It starts and ends at Vanilla. Anyone who says otherwise is clearly wrong and should not be listened to in matters of ice cream. The lone exception is the Hoodsie cup, a perfect separate but equal mix of chololate and vanilla.

The chocolate part of a Hoodsie Cup is pure poison, although those who eat only one flavor and leave the other half should be physically harmed. Hoodsie needs to revamp their product. I, for one, have never said to myself, "I'm in the mood for an incredibly small ice cream treat with equal portions of vanilla and chocolate." Rather, I'd say, "I could do for a massive bowl of any ice cream besides chocolate." For shame, Hoodsie Brand Ice Cream Products, for shame.

Seems to me a real Red Sox fan would be too thrilled by their favorite team overcoming an 0-3 deficit to vanquish the evil empire and go to the WORLD SERIES to quibble over butter pecan. Well I like vanilla icecream too! With a hershey bar on the side! With or without almonds.

I think baby boomers like Butter Pecan My dad always, well still does, gets/eats butter pecan, and I think it's good as hell too.

I noticed that.

Every person I know that is a baby boomer likes ice cream flavored with butter pecan. It's kind of creepy.

My dad loves the stuff. I can eat it but not much, the taste of it is overwhelming. Either way, chocolate is good but my favorite would have to be vanilla, and I mean over all flavors.
