| I know this is an old post but it makes me furious. I am appaled at the number of my peers who still can't get off thier rears and vote. As a woman I am even more appaled, history tells us the plight of all the women who fought for our right to vote and still only a fraction of us get out and do it, then half of us that do just vote for whoever hubby votes for. The sad part is if all american women voted for the same person that person would win as we are the majority, and considering the policies and opinions Bush has about issues that affect women, I would be appaled to think that any woman (or man for that matter) that has done their research could honestly say they wanted bush to win.

| If you think it's sad that women didn't vote, you should look at the numbers of minorities that actually turned up. The sad fact is that of the people going to vote, most are white males. I could never understand how minorities, women, and homosexuals - those that have the most to lose- fail to turn up and make their voices heard. It makes you wonder how many people: a) are disgruntled by the political process 2) don't believe that their vote matters 9) waste their votes on guaranteed non-winners and G) complain even though they didn't participate. I think that people that do not vote, unless there is a damn good reason, should be EXTREMELY quiet about politics. Our forefathers gave their lives so that every american can have a voice. It is clear that most americans today do not deserve nor take advantage of that gift. my 2 cents |
