Default Drugtests suck

I was confronted with the concept of a drug test recently and it got me thinking if it was really worth it ... I mean, to be invaded in such a personal and foul way. It also got me to thinking about you guys and what products, if any, you have used to pass these drug tests, whether it be from your employer or your P.O, or your parents.

I have turned down a couple of jobs that drug test. I think its a violation of my right to privacy. My fluids are my business. If they need to sample my bodily fluid or hair or whatever, too bad.

Default Drug Test Can Go Down The Drain

Personally, I do not do drug tests, nor do I want to work for or support a company that endorses or asks for one to be done.

As far as I am concerned they can find a mindless, uncreative slave who obviously doesn't mind the civil liberty intrusion to piss in a cup for an employer.

Drug Testing Companies can just piss off!

Default Drug Warriors and Their Prey, by Richard Lawrence Miller

I just happen to be reading the above mentioned book and came across this passage:

"One study published by the federal government showed illicit drug users at Utah Power & Light having lower health benefit costs than non users. Another study published by the federal government found that Georgia Power Company employees who tested positive for illicit drugs had higher promotion rates compared to the entire workforce and that marijuana users had absentee rates thirty percent lower than those of other employees.

If drug use typically caused employees to become unsatisfactory, drug testing would be unnecessary. An incompetent worker can be fired or discipline regardless of drug use.

The PURPOSE of workplace drug testing is to target satisfactory employees for punishment. The purpose is to identify ordinary people who can be victimized. Urine tests fulfill the same function that the yellow star did for Jews in Nazi Germany, identifying them for ostracism because nothing about their appearance or behavior differed from that of ordinary people."

This is an interesting read I highly recommend.

peace

Exclamation no random tests

The worse tests are those given randomly. To me they are a violation of the 4th amendment as an illegal search. There is no probable cause reqirement. On the other hand, if someone causes an accident, particularly if there are injuries, it seems that an employer has a right to check for drugs and alcohol.

Others sign contracts that stipulate drug tests. The name Ricky Williams comes to mind. Intrestingly enough, the most comman opinion expressed by NFL players is not that Williams was screwed by being suspended. They are labeling him a quitter for suddenly retiring (quitting), shortly before the start of the season. As it turns out, not even the RAIDERS, a team that has been called something of an NFL halfway house, is not interested because of the perceived lack of resolve on William's part.

The worse thing about drug TESTS is they NEVER give you time to STUDY!!!

One more thing; Stephanie S. it's a huge exageration to claim drug testing is comparable to the treatment the Jews received in the hands of the Nazis. Peace

Drug tests; I am about sick of them, and I am sure you probably know why But I too work for a research company, funded by the government, that does not drug test; it is a research corporation owned by the employees, not by the labs.

I also choose not to work anywhere that requires drug testing, but many are forced to forgo this for their chosen profession; hence I answer questions about it all day long.

And contrary to popular belief, most of the products you see out there that are advertised as detox potions are nothing more than water, b vitamins, and creatine; do you find any of these to be ingredients that remove THC from lipid tissue? I know that this issue has been discussed and agreed upon, and yet so many still think they need $30 potions to pass a test; in the end, dilution is the only principle they are following, easily obtained through much cheaper methods and ingredients.

Substitution is really the way to go now; 99% of all jobs that drug test do not stare at you when you give a sample, they let you do it in privacy; so don't even let them invade your fluids, go ahead and screw them and give them someone else's urine, or better yet, synthetic urine, the utlimate get back at the drug testers.

But in the end, the probation peeps are in the worst position, faced with the problems of observed pee tests and randoms. And for those Nazi jobs that hair test, prepare to fail months after you stop smoking........yes MONTHS!!

Is this fair to you? Of course not. Is it an invasion of your privacy? Of course. Can we do anything about it? Of course not, unless we want to give up thousands of jobs solely on the basis of that; it sucks, but that is reality.

And there is no rhyme or reason to drug tests; Dunkin Donuts may not drug test, and Starbucks does, but both make coffee and serve it; so does that mean that these jobs are that much different? No. It means one of these companies was convinced, probably by some drug testing company, that drug testing would mean "safer employees, better peace of mind blah blah blah." But in reality, drug testing proves nothing; if you quit long enough to pass the test, and then go back to smoking after you are hired, then have they hired a drug free worker? You get the idea.

Drug tests are so annoying because they don't really PROVE anything because there are always ways to circumvent them, even if it means staying away from weed for a month.

So in conclusion, I never will work for a job that drug tests, but many do, and the reality is, people in the US, for the most part, see weed as evil, so testing for it to keep it away is the best way to combat this, right? (Insert eye roll here )

It would be so great if they just got rid of drug tests, realizing that they don't really keep a workplace DRUG FREE.

I agree. I will not work for any company that drugtests, it is a violation of my
privacy and personal space. And I do tell this to every manager that has ever given me that waiver that I have to sign after the interview, hand it back politely and decline stating their flawed policy.

Drug tests do suck though especially when the job is so tempting....BTW do we have a thread around here about our occupations?

Besides that I also feel that drug tests do not do what they are supposed to do and are stacked in the wrong direction. Marijuana metabolites last far longer than those of other, harder drugs which in addition to alcohol are the cause of problems, liability etc not Marijuana use away from work. If someone shows up to work unable to function properly and efficiently and is a possible hazard then you fire them, you dont pre-emptively invade something unless...well...your...well.... you know....the President of the United States of America...

Anyways, this one goes out to all those drug testing employers/companies out there heres a steaming fresh track from "R Kelly ".

life is not so easy for everyone.
your liberal rebelliousness is very admirable.
but sometimes giving up Marijuana is necessary to survive in the real world.
-------------
no home to live in. no life worth living.

no rent money. no home to live in.

no job. no money.
-------------

I have used a friends clean urine for such tests...
I find it too risky though.
Urine curdles within a day.
If they watch me pee, then im screwed royally on ever keeping my job.

they have even forced me to get a slip signed at Marijuana anonymous so i can keep working.
life is cruel and unfair. I believe most of you are living in a dream world I will never get to touch, see, feel or ever experience.

edit: im sorry for post. im just depressed. im also an insomniac, and i think my serotonin levels have depleted. But i promised my friend id wake him up at 7am, and i also promised my girlfriend wed go shopping together at 10am.

Yes but if you freeze it right after it is voided from the body, it will be good to go for up to a year
