A member has asked me to set up this poll. He/she is curious as to how many people have had a panic attack triggered by a single hit/rip/toke of marijuana smoke.

I've had panic attacks where I heard sirens coming my way if I was outside, etc, but never too severe. Just more of an adrenaline rush. But certainly not after just one hit.

I don't think I've ever panicked from one hit. That sort of thing usually accompanies large amounts of weed in an overly social atmosphere (me : social :: oil : water).

um i think its a part of smoking. think of it as more of an unwanted side effect, but its only til later when u learn how to relax and go with your high instead of trying to fight it that you learn to cope with it and it goes away. for example i use to get panic attacks when I had to go home with red eyes.. to the point eye drops wouldnt work... i was miserable. then i learned to just relax n chill

Only time i've ever had a panic attack from a small amount (and never just ONE hit) was more like a guilt attack...with this whole trying to quit thing and before i did i'd get all panicky and stuff...but in general it's definitely been atmosphere and circumstance that relates to the panic attack at hand.

I've read those threads before, I just haven't known anybody whose had a panic attack from weed. I've heard of one case through friends though. That's about it.

Hmm, well in my experence, people that have a tendency to have panic attacks, just from day to day life, can have panic attacks from smoking weed...

But with someone with absolute no history of them? Seems kind of off....

i use marijuana to control my panic attacks flashbacks shakes anxiety and so on and so forth theirs a good chance this person either has an allergy got a laced bag or simply bugged out on their first toke or had a reaction with medication or is in some form or another allergic reaction
