Hey all, I'm kind of concerned about my friend. He smokes weed, but when me him and a bunch of other friends hang out and are ready to smoke, he won't want to do it because he knows he'll go crazy . Like one time we were at the beach, and we went up to this tower thing and he was about to jump off if I didn't get him. He also took off all his clothes except his boxers and started running down the beach! I don't think its like a normal panic attack, he literaly goes crazy . He says if he wants to smoke he has to take these things called Valiums whitch are perscription pills that "calm you down"...last time when he did it with us, he smoked like a bowl and started freaking out about how he couldn't breath and stuff.
I'm not sure what's wrong with him, it happens with basicly any type of weed we get, accept he can sort of handle low-grade stuff, but if he smokes to much of that he'll freak out. Also, does anyone know about these valiums? Are they ok to take?

He loves weed when he actualy gets to enjoy it, but like I said he can only enjoy it if he takes some valiums, or if he smokes really lowgrade weed. I don't think he would want to quit smoking..I'm just trying to find out what this problem could be so that I could possibly find out a way to "fix it".

Hi,

It may just be the weed, but your friend may have a much more serious problem which may be caused by psychological, pharmacological, or physical issues. Do you know if he is taking any other meds? He's mentioned the valium, but who prescribed this to him? For what reason? Does he take other drugs? Does he have problems in his home life or has he been diagnosed with any disorders?

It may be that he is simply experiencing an acute form of the panic attacks described in other places on this site. Do a search on panic attacks and you will find a lot of answers. Don't forget to ask the important questions though. Your friend may be going through something of which this is but a symptom. Be a good friend and stop, look, ask, and help where you can.

I'll ask him that, but I'm pretty sure he's not taking any medications, if he is they are just over the counter (things like ibuporfen) the Valiums weren't persribed to him they were givin to him buy a friend who has them perscribed.
