Earlier this week I paid a kid $50 for what was supposed to be a quarter but turned out to be about an eighth ($50 a quarter and $30 an eighth are average prices here). I don't want to get ripped off like that again, but I'm also aware that come autumn, there will be a serious dry period between the depletion of this year's supply and the arrival of next year's crop. I don't have any other connections until that time. I'm also on a weed break until later this summer, and I usually smoke only a little bowl at a time - a gram lasts me most of a week. I have about a quarter in total right now (the eighth the kid sold me and 1/2 a quarter saved from last spring). Should I buy skimp bags from this kid and avoid the annual dry spell, or save my money and hope for a better connection when the supply is replenished later in the fall? I have until next week (when he calls me again) to decide.

That is totaly your call manny.

Whatever you feel you need to do, if you want to smoke and the only way of doing so is buying skimped bags, then go for it.

But if you can hold out, and you don't feel a major urge to smoke, by all means hold out till prices go down.

Having been involved with people that deal large quantity,I know that this dry spell is just a way to drive up the prices.
The people that sell imported weed have taken a serious hit from private growers in the last ten yrs. and use this "dry spell"to drive up prices so they won't get hurt too bad by the good hydro and outdoor coming after harvest.It's just economics,there's actually no dry spell.
My advice....stop smoking until the good comes around again.Thats what I do.

But just tell him his bags are bad and ask him for a better one. If he rejects just wait for better times.

well i would say save your money like me, after the 25th of this month i am not buying weed or gonnna smoke like i am now or at all and save my cash till i turn 18 to buy a phatty piece and a huge sack. i already have like 110 bucks. and my b-day is september 6th!

whatever i have saved up i am gonna go half for weed and halffor pipe, i hope i can get like 400

its just so dang risky though.. its like not being able to grow tomatoes.. if we could smoke dried tomato leaves and get a buzz, they'd prohibit that too.. *until further studies are completed...*

Id say if you have to pay an extra $20 more...than consdier growing your own.......try growing just one or two plants....

First of all, thanks to everyone who replied to this thread and/or voted on the poll.

It turned out that either he didn't call my house at all, or he called when I was at work (I had to go in because there was only one guy there). I had decided to go with the poll results anyways. What I'm really worried about now is that the city of Hartford is cracking down on drugs and crime, and from what I understand, a sizeable amount of the weed in [my hometown] comes from there. Add to that the (real or contrived) annual dry period, and you have yourself $20 grams of schwagg.

If any of you happen to be dealers who work with large amounts of weed and have the power to send or withhold shipments to Connecticut, please keep in mind that the crackdown is only going on in Hartford, and not the entire state. You should be fine as long as you avoid that city.
