| I dunno. I recently decided over the weekend that I was going to quit smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol for an extended period of time. Not sure how long it's going to be, but hopefully I won't smoke or drink anymore. My reasons vary, but there are quite a few of them. Some of them include responsibility, reputation, cost, etc. I dunno, but I find that smoking dope makes me less inclined to get work done, and my low tolerance for THC leaves me baked for more hours than necessary. Reputation-wise, I've already developed a reputation for doing drugs in my school, though I happen to be one who's tried them minimally while the bigger druggies in my school get off scott-free. Cost-wise, well, after my dad took my money away after first catching me with pot, it's been pretty hard to pay for pot. Mostly though, I'd say self-control and my reputation are why I've decided to quit. Not only that, but I waste time browsing pot websites (this site not included) when I could be getting my work done. |

| I'm on a break that started last saturday (soon to over a bit). This week was mid-term week and I wanted a clear head for my tests. I'm not sure it made any difference, I made the Dean's List last semester, blazing everyday. |

| My friend said he was quitting today because he thinks it causes bad karma.

| i stop about every 10 years or so for a few days to a week just to get rid of the burned out feeling in my head . I've been a potter since I was 16 and I'm 45 now . After a while if you don't quit once in a while your mind gets jellied out . LOL

| Why would I quit...? The only real reason I see myself giving up is getting married. That was one proviso I know of in my parents getting married. My mom gave up weed and cigarettes at the same time cold turkey. They're still married 24 years later. I hear a lot about "you shouldn't give up smoking for anyone" but the way I see it, the will to sacrifice is in short supply these days. Friends say I glow only in a relationship. While marijuana may make me feel good, I'd rather be happy not just for myself. Would I stop support for legalization? Absolutely not. |

| i won't stop until i have kids, probably. or, i'll at least not keep it in my house, smoke in my house, or around my children, but i'm sure i'd partake at 'adult-only' parties when the kids weren't around. after i have a family, getting caught with an illegal substance, depending on the situation, can result in a very real possibility of losing my kids which is something i woudn't be willing to risk. after my (future!!) kids are older (17,18) i may not be so paranoid about it, but i don't think i'd ever be able to smoke with or around my kids. probably because my mom took this same stance on it while my brother and i were growing up, and i think it's appropriate and has worked for our family.

| I think I'm going to quit for awhile, (take a break) because recently I forgot where I hid my sack, and spent an hour rummaging around the entire house looking for it. I didn't even lose it, I put it somewhere really easy to find for me, while I was high, but... I forgot that I put it there. My memory sucks and that's the current reason I would see fit to quit. |

| I don't see myself quitting for anything. Why start to quit?

| I'll quit to get a real job at a publishing company when I graduate with my master's degree. But after I'm in the door, I will discreetly begin to look for my first hookup with no middle-man. Otherwise, if I'm living by myself (not having to worry about anyone else in the house who might have a problem with it) and I think I can obtain it without a huge amount of risk or difficulty, for a good price, why not?*
