My friend and I had an earth thing like that one time. If you could build a path all the way around the earth large enough to fit everyone on it at the same time you could hypothetically speed up or slow down the earth's rotation. We also realized that every time a space ship or something leaves the earth's gravitational pull, you technically will lose weight. I should mention that the rotation thing involves getting everyone to run in the same direction.

I have to say it's playing Need For Speed 4 on the Playstation, playing the part of the game where the cops are chasing you! Oh, that's madd alright.

BTW DoritosMan, we did a similar question to yours in Physics last year. If everyone on earth started walking in the same direction at once, would the Earth's rotation be affected and sadly, no it would not. Therefore I conclude that if everyone in china jumped at the same time, the Earth would not go off it's orbit. Besides, if it did, we'd all die. Now that wouldn't be good, would it? Unless ofcourse, if there is the afterlife of ganja and grilled cheese sandwiches, then i'm cool.

it's 5:00 am, sunday morning, the alarm must stop
you notice the light mist of a perfect, late summer day about to break through night's last whisper across the sky
hues of orange, pink from the horizon call to you, beckon like long, slim fingers "come out and play" is it already sunday?

for just a fleeting moment, you begrudge having to whip off the warm duvet, "it's cold, it's cold-damn air conditioning"
quickly dress, in layers, because although it's still a little cool now, it's going to be another hot august day

time is of the essence, everything was packed lovingly the night before in anticipation of a slow start, it's still early, even though you don't mind one bit being the only one up on the block

one last check, make sure it's all good, jump in the wheels, and we're off for another adventure, a quick stop to grab some caffeine and then it's time for the first doobie of the day(who doesn't love wake'n'bake), "do you think we'll make it? sun seems a little antsy " sweet smelling smoke begins to fill the interior, "we'll make it, would'ya pass that thing"

we reach our destination, the digital clock reads 5:27, just enough time to unload the gear, the mist is fading, turning into a light fog lifting into the purple, red sky-it's going to be a hot one today

noone's around, just 2 cars already parked, there's always an earlier bird. it's quiet, just the constant lapping of the water against the docks........serenity.........
as the boat slips into the waves, you wonder at....everything, nothing, the promise of another day
the wind whips through you as you race along, hoping to find that noone has beaten you to your prize

as the boat begins to slow and your hopes are realized, a shape is startled out of the tall grasses which grow up from the watery depths, a deep cry from the heron flying overhead tells you he is not happy to share his home........we're here, and not a moment too soon, the bright orange sun is breaking free of it's dark prison, illuminating the sparkles in the swell of each wave

as we anchor and prepare our tackle, the cry goes up
"doobietime!" god, this is the life

soon enough, we are fighting the classic battle of man against nature, strong opponents who refuse with their last breath to be caught, some are laughable-they should be the bait
others, well they're the stuff of the classic "fish tale", others still are the ones who got away
sweet smelling smoke floats along the water as do our minds
the beauty is not lost, in fact, it is enhanced to a degree of understanding our place in the grand scheme
the clouds roll by, as does time
isn't that always the way?
another glorious day spent with nature and her children,
"is it that time already?"
"don't worry, there's always next sunday"


this is one of my ultimate favorite things to do, i hope maybe some of you will try it
(no fish were hurt in the telling of this story)

I like to toke while I'm watching a funny movie and eating funyuns. Then I go brush my teeth, and my husband and I are off to bed. WOO HOO!!! That's a regular for us, and we love it!!
