Should the scientists be allowed to clone humans,or should they be stopped due to religious or other reasons?
I think they should be allowed to clone!Whats your opinion?

This is an interesting question.

I say i think cloning humans should be something we should look into but not really delve too too deep in. I certainly dont want to see society ever offer it to the common man for in home use, the results would just suck. But im all for man taking total control of their creation.

As far as religion in this arguement, i cants stand when people say something shouldnt be done because of their faith. How shallow are your thoughts if you feel the need to try and enforce them on others? If your faith was such a fleeting device then your mind wouldnt feel the need to stick your head into things like this and say "well i think god doesnt like that so we cant do it". I would think you would just leave well enough alone.

If there is a sentient being out there that created the world, why the hell would they need some evolved primate to speak for him/her/it?

the other day where two scientists in Italy and the U.S. were questioned about the rumor that they had cloned a fetus into a woman and it's birth was emminent.
So,a new element would be,Is it all right to clone if it means your own life?

I just don't want people trying to create super humans. Some people can commit some devious acts with cloning technology. Then again, we could learn so much with the cloning of humans. I think it will be a huge step for man if cloning is made leagal, but there must be some restrictions.

I think cloning should be legal. Truthfully I'm pretty f*ing tired of everything someone doesn't like, or anything new, simply pushed aside via legislation. We already have too many laws, and I doubt the sanity of most of the people writing them.

Legalize cloning, and set limitations or restrictions on the useexistance of cloned tissues/beings - and review them every 5 years or so to keep them current and sensible. Last time I checked very few of us were running things with a crystal ball, and I am reasonably certain we're all capable of error.

that cloning is going to be like the internet when it comes to the law!
The internet was too much too fast for any government to pass laws about,and I think cloning will be that way too.
I see no way that any one will stop it from being done,there are too many ways that they could use cloning to prolong human life.
There will be a rich person that wants a new liver or something for himself,and he will pay for it to be done,if for no other reason than to help to keep him alive. Then politicians and then it will be every one wanting those few extra days or years that cloning will give them.
Just think of this:if cloning could be perfected,we could live to see a day where there are no more people stuck in wheel chairs,
new tissue could be grown to replace the damaged.
No more worry about a heart attack,just get a new one put in!
The next step will be brain transplants,every forty years or so,just have the old brain put in a new body!

i was wondering, in case that baby in italy does get born who will be the legal guardian of the kid?
the scientist?
the mother?
the guy that got cloned?
clone will live by his own rules?

what about, when the clone finds out that he is not a unique person, he is just a xerox of some guy. That he never was a spermatozoid+egg, can you imagine the existencial(sp?) dilemas?

Isnt it selfish to clone yourself, just to have extra body parts? Im alright with cloning just cells to fix you up, but to clone a baby im totaly against it, its not fair imo.

What if people start to clone dead people, like einstien and jesus?
Is cloning the prophecy of jesus coming back? its going to get done sometime, thats even worse. Imagine being a clone of jesus. The clone will have the same dna but he will not be the same guy. Will people worship him? Will he rule the earth?is it the apocalypse?

cloning has too many IF's and what about's!

And that italian scientist is just trying to show himself off, just the fact that he went after the midia instead of some sciencetifc magazine (cloning weekly?).

if you wouldnt mind being told you are a clone exactly when you are able to conceive the idea...then and only then should u be for cloning...me personaly... i would be a bit pissed if i was told i was a clone created simply for the purpose of satisfying the intrigue of some scientific mind.

What really amazes me is the fact that we CAN clone, thats just insane, what are we trying to build to, a super-species that never dies?
