Just remembered something that would be of interest to people reading this board. Trust me, you want to read this one.

I recently took a trip to visit some in-laws. While we were making the rounds, we stopped at someone's house to pick some folks up to go out, and noticed that the address on the house was "420." You gotta love that, right? Once inside I notice some old tin... don't remember anything about it other than that the ?brand name? was "Mary Jane." Getting a kick out of this place so far.

Now, these families are pretty straight-laced. Nice people, but people you feel like you have to keep a lid on things around. So I laugh it off as coincidence.

Next time we are over there, the garage is opened and I see the license plate.

"BOTH 420"

WHOA. Hold on a second. That can't be a damn accident, can it? I mean, LOTS of people live at the address 420, and a Mary Jane tin is just a coincidence. But to put BOTH 420 on your license plate????

I immediately have to ask.

"Who's car is that?" I expect to hear that it's some estranged nephew or some other black sheep.

"Oh, that's Aunt Cheryl's* car." Now I saw this lady, and she looked like the nicest, sweetest old lady I'd ever seen, age was probably somewhere between 55-65. I'm thinking, wow, either this is some bizarre coincidence, or this lady and her husband have some people FOOLED.

BOTH 420. OK, granted, the address is 420, but hell, isn't that the perfect cover? I mean, you know the relatives are going to ask, right? The more I thought about it, the dumber it sounded. Who the hell puts their ADDRESS on their license plate??? I couldn't think of one legitimate reason why.

Finally, about 24 hours later I broke down and had to start asking the in-laws I was staying with. Of course the idea was immediately rejected. Aunt Cheryl would not be doing such a thing. Simply out of the question. The 420 is just her address.

I point out that putting your house address on your license plate has got to be one of the most nonsensical things I've ever heard of. I could find no logical or emotional reason to pay extra cash so that you could inform the rest of the driving public that you and your spouse both live at the same address.

I can see why the family would buy this nonsense - they have no idea what 420 means to the cannabis culture. It matches the address, so it's a decent enough cover to ward off questions.

Finally, after telling the in-laws that it was good to know I could always call on Aunt Cheryl for a hookup in case of an emergency (believe me, I was having a ball at this point) they finally broke down and told me they would ask what the license plate meant.

Here's the glorious response: Early on in their relationship, they were eating at a restaurant and when asked which of 2 steak sauces they would like, they simultaneously replied, "Both." And the 420 is just their address.

So, the question before you all is this. Is Aunt Cheryl a stoner?

I think she could possibly be a stoner so i voted yes. Its not a fault its the perfect cover with them both being pretty old and that being thier adress, they probably just thought how funny that would be.

Bro Aunt Cheryl is a STONER and there aint nothin she can do to hide her little joke from another stoner (you). That BBQ sauce explanation was pathetic cause only a moron would find that anecdote funny and remember crap like that long enough to put it on her license plate, especially if the second part is her address... my interpritation is that BOTH her and her husband like 420, hence the plate ses BOTH 420.

That is a pretty funny story. I don't know if the Aunt (and Uncle) is smoking or not, but that sure would be funny that she's been fooling the family for so long and you come and blow her cover....Dam meddling kids

The explanation does sound a bit flimsy, but I do know people who made their phone number same as their address, could be something like that.
