| I'm sure most of you have given names to your favorite smoking devices, as they become like friends to you, and it's boring to say "I'm going to smoke my pipe now" as opposed to something more colorful. So what do you call them, and how did you come up with it? Some of mine are (I have a big collection): The Hessian - A 2 foot straight glass bong, with a heavy base. Completely undecorated. It's just a clear glass tube and slide, and a pearly white base. Hits like a champ. I call it that because it is swift and lethal, and unconcerned with aesthetics, kind of like Christopher Walken (who played the headless horseman, aka The Hessian). Walken rules. Happy Trails - A pipe which is kind of like a scrunched sherlock. It has a steep curve in it, and stands upright. It looks a bit like a seal standing on its front paws. After you smoke it, a thin trail of smoke leaks from it for a long time and wafts around the room. Aladdin - A foot-tall blown glass bong. It's mostly red with some iridescents in it, and has a middle-eastern styling about it. Maybe a genie will come out and bless me with a bowl that never kicks, no matter how many times you smoke it. Or pot that grew on my head like hair... mmmm... Magma (R.I.P) - A nice little glass bowl, with flakes of yellow, black and red. When it was lit in a dark room, it glowed like "LIQUID HOT MAG-MA" (bonus points if you identify the quote). It broke one day when I was cleaning it. Gravitah - My waterfall gravity bong. Pronounced the way Cartman says authority, as in "Respect my authoritah!" when he was a cop on South Park. On the table! |

Then i had another glass spoon and it was named Gus.then two other pipes with no names and i have an awesome chillum named THE BLUE MEANIE. And a really really awesome spoon that has a mushroom bead that is like magnified by the glass bubble around it on the bowl. It has two names COUNT MUSHMORE and/or MOUNT MUSHMORE |

| Deep_freeze i think people who can't spell are stupid. I think people who don't know the difference between inanimate and animate are stupid. People who don't know the difference between wood and would are also stupid.

| hey man, people name their guitars, their cars, etc. things that they use a lot and they love. and things that are almost alive in a way. i think pipes fit that extremely well. before you name it, its just a pipe. when you name it, it becomes your pipe. i have had several pipes that i have named. a had a little spoon that had some bubbles on the front that looked like frogs eyes so i named it Toad, or Toe-Ad. that one was taken by the cops. i had another glass spoon that was red when i got it so i named it elmo, but he broke. the piece i have now is nameless but that might change.

| Man has no name right now, but I haven't had it for very long. Usually a name just develops because of a particular event that has happened. My little metal pipe we named "F*ck, That's Hot!" because.. well.. it was metal, and got REALLY hot. We'd be passing it back and forth, and being stoned, forget that it would be hot... hehe. We have a plastic bong called "Mr. Leaks" because.. well.. it leaks We made a gas-mask bong out of a Culligan bottle.. spray painted silver. We called it "The Platinum Pimp" but I can't exactly remember why. Had a small bubbler that was called "Bobby"... after a certain movie about this irrationally angry guy who whenever he got pissed used to yell at his son and beat him and ****... but you'd have to see it to understand that one ![]()

| Naming inanimate objects isnt dumb, even though Ive never had a pipe or bong long enough to name. Naming something is iether because it earned the name some how, like PokeSmot's "F*ck, That's Hot!", it earned that name by being hot. Or just naming something because you've grown a bond with it. Deep_Freeze, have you ever owned something that made life that much easier or made things funner? I dont think I could live without my bike, I havnt named it but I have grown such a bond to it that it feels like a part of me. Dont go around calling people dumb and have someone call you dumb in return because you are (in fact) being dumb, that kinda crap will not get you in the moderators favor, stay on topic. My 2 cents.
