I give positive rep if I find the post to be funny, interesting, or if I agree with what they are saying, and in cases where thanks just doesn't cut it
It's nice to get positive rep too, so I like to send out that feeling too.

I've never given negative rep, although I have received it twice. I wouldn't give out negative rep just because I don't agree with the post, as I think this is petty.

I will when I like what they had to say or agree. It does feel good to get it in return as well. The thank you button is easy and nice for the public to see. I have groaned at only 1 person and it took me a while arguing my point with that person to dish it to him. He was really making me so damn angry . That doesn't happen very often at all. So in retaliation against me he groaned back, but oh well, that is the way it goes sometimes I guess. I just hate it when you go to give positive rep and then that prompt comes up that you must spread it around first before giving to that person again. If they deserve it again then they deserve it and we should be able to give it, but this isn't my site and I don't make the policies. I guess that's fair though.

...that's the way I feel too toker. I give rep if it's deserved and I don't if it is'nt. I use the thanks button more often than not , but if rep is deserved , they get it ! Like you , I usually have to spread it around some more first but they eventually get it.

i for one give out but for some reason people are rude and shut me down i have 4 negative points and i dont even know how!

I give out tons of rep, plenty more than I receive at times. I almost always end up reaching the 24hr limit.

I give out reputation to thought out posts - it doesn't have to have a ton of information, or I necessarily agree with it, but as long as it benefits the community, and facilitates discussion, I find it worth of adding to the persons reputation here at the forum. It also has to have decent grammar and spelling.

I also use negative reputation and groans often. Each have their purposes.

I neg rep for posting shitty advice (legal), or for willful ignorance (as in, "Beat marijuana charges for sure (seriously)" thread).

I do every now and then. I use the thanks more than rep. Rep is usually for well wishes, a funny post, or a post with much information. I probably get it back as much as I give.

I like to give positive rep and thanx when it's appropriate. I think I've groaned at someone once or twice...and I got a couple myself!

Does anyone else do this when giving rep...click twice until the message pops up, that you can't give rep more than once? I'm so impatient, I've never waited long enough for the window to go away. Or does it ever!

I'll have to wait a bit next time.
