Marijuana, isn't a gateway drug. It only is if you make it out to be one. Anything can be a gateway drug. the whole gateway thing is another piece of propaganda.

I agree fully. If you want to get a "better" high... or whatever, then yes.. consider it a gateway drug. Otherwise.. personally i feel that pot is a drug that you could do your whole (?) life and be cool. just dont stray from the green!

Good answer. You're right, people can say anything can be a gateway drug.

I don't think anything really is a gateway drug because that all depends on the person. Doing one drug doesn't force a person into doing other ones, it's the person who decides what they do, not the drug. If someone smokes marujuana, likes it, and decide to try other things, it's they who chose to smoke marijuana and it's they who wanted to move on to other things. It wasn't the marijuana that made them.

I believe why most people say it's a gateway drug is because for many drug attics that smoke weed, they have smoked so much and for such a long period of time that it doesn't get them stoned anymore and they are so desparate to alter their state of mind that they need seometing else

No, I do not think at all that bud is a gateway drug. In fact in my experiance, buds came after a lot of the "other" things. Now I don't do any of that other stupid stuff, and just smoke the pure substance. Chemicals are way bad, man. I wish I woulda found weed first cuz then maybe I wouldn't have had to mess with all that other stuff.

i'd have to agree with the fact that after smokin fer 7 years, at least a 3.5 a day for the last 4 or so, i definately didn't get as stoned as i used to... thus, my search for mind altering substances brought me to these so called "off-topics" you speak of, (i'm a new user here... lol, "new user"... made me laugh) but i've realized that all the chemicals you do really do mess with your head... so it's back to weed for me.... maybe mush for special occasions

When the Netherlands "decriminalized" marijuana, heroin use dropped 60%. If you make marijuana legal, people would be more proned to stay legal. whereas those who use marijuana are already breaking the law, meaning that this (breaking the law) becomes no big deal, making it easier to get into harder drugs. So, i say it is a gateway drug in the us, but any place where it has been "decriminalized" it is not a gateway drug.

no people just associate it with being a gateway drug because its what most people start out doing many dont move on to harder drugs and the reason it is usualy the first drug someone trys is it is the most readily available high almost anywhere unless you live in riverside count (meth capitol of the world) or in china were opium is rampid in those places those are considered more of a gateway drug then pot on many occasions

I gotta say its YES for some people and NO for others, Personally it happened to me that me and a group of frineds used to smoke daily....
and we started other stuff
they continued with the heavier stuff but I kept with the weed...
see what Im telling, it depends on YOU.....
some people use it ase gateway and others like me are keepers.... of it god bless gANJa MoN
