I usually buy regs which often come pre-shredded/groundup/whatever.

I usually just stick a nug in the bowl, or break a larger nug up into slightly smaller nugs, then pack. Shredding the weed seems somewhat pointless to me, unless you're trying to pack the bowl as tight as possible.

when you chop it or shred it i find the cherry stays lit way longer i think someone else already said that but oh well

I just put a nug in usually, too lazy to grind up. It's easier to turn the weed over as well when its not ground up, although if I do grind up I don't usually have to turn over cos I burn the whole bowl in one go.

I'm the same way. I always get nugs and fluffy stuff, but I never break it up. I figure, why hurt it by breaking it up? Just break off enough of a nug to fit in my glass piece. And, I have actually found that breaking it up makes it burn faster too.

I pack my bowls at tight as possible. i take a fat nug and break it in 2, craming it in my bong or bubbler. i take a little shake, if i have any, to top my bowl off.
then light up

unfrotunetly my fingers are too fat and i don't have fingernails so i have a real hard time breaking it up

I just don't understand why anybody would want to pack a whole nug into a bowl cuz it doesnt smoke as good or as long. I will either use a grinder(one of the best inventions) or I'll just break it up with my fingers. Man, I am the master shredder! I can seperate the buds from the stems just by feel, straight up in the dark. But I must admit if I'm in a really pissy mood and really need to smoke I'll just shove that bud right into my pipe and smoke it!!!
