| I'm going to agree with grassy ass, Thomas Jeff has to be the smartest. He grew feilds of weed, wrote the DoI and had sex with a lot of black chicks. The last one had no relivance to his genius but it shows he was the man. |

E... something... -thinks really hard- Its on the tip of my toung... I know it. I can see his face! He's the guy that got arrested. Urg, I can't beleive I forgot his name... :P Having a stoner moment here.. Wow, and here is this big ol' post on me forgetting what his name is. Lets see... Something that starts with E I think.... Earl... No, no where close... OH! Damnit, I lost it. ;_________; Think think think... Wow, it is really hard to think with headphones on. I can't even hear myself typing and damn, I am a loud typer. -turns it up a little- Now, where was I... Oh yeah. The stoner guy. :P Mark Emery! Thats it. Why did I think his first name started with E? Well, his last name does, so I was kind of close. ^^ He might not be the smartest guy, taking a bong hoot on national television... Oh, and that other guy... :P Now I have to remember what his name is. Lets see... He got arrested, like most stoner guys. He was in cheech and chong. O_o; Think think think! C'mon Nikia, you know this... -strains really hard- Owww, my brain. ;__; Ug, this is going to bother me... Name... Name... Tommy... Tommy chong? XD Something like that. Well, those two are... What is this thread about again? |

| I'm sorry Ganja Girl, but neither of the two people you mentioned strike me as overly intelligent. Chong is a stoner icon, true enough, but simply being an icon doesn't make you intelligent. Watch any of his movies just once, and tell me he strikes you as being more intelligent than any stoner you know, including yourself. As for Emery, the guy may very well be intelligent, but....I have my doubts. Only an imbicile would go on TV bragging about the "millions of seeds" he has sent to US customers. Sending a SINGLE seed across the border to the US would be a federal offense. I have no pity for someone who not only breaks the law (which i can respect to a certain degree, depending on te circumstances) and then goes out of his way to draw attention to that fact, then is shocked when the RCMP arrests him at the request of the DEA for breaking US laws. If he been low key, like hindreds of other seed banks operating in Canada who sell to US customers, he'd likley be free from prosecution. However, never one that was able to resist the spotlight, he turned himself into a publicity stunt which may very well end up with him serving considerable time in a US prison. He fashoions himself as a legalization pioneer, but his tactics simply won't fly in the US, and are just as likely toset legalization BACK, instead of moving it foreward. Being outspoken, and "in your face" may have worked for himup North, but here, it would simply get him laughed at, or arrested. Smoking a joint on the steps of City hall isn't going to change attitudes about marijuana in the US. We need people who can fit in and relate to the those in power, not people who mock it. We won't make any progress towards legalization in the US until we can appeal to those who make our laws, not those who mock them It may get publicity, but it sends the wrong message. marijuana users don't want to be portrayed as outcasts who openly flaunt breaking the law. To be successful in the US, the message SHOULD be that we're ordinary people, no different than anyone else. Emery's tactics don't send that message at all.
