| Hell I dont know, I would like to say within the next 10 years, but that is wishful thinking. Before last week, I didnt really care so much about when it gets legalized, because I was smoking it when I wanted and practically where I wanted. Then I got pulled over and was charged with a DUI (marijuana), possession, and paraphanelia. They called up the drug dogs and found weed equaling about a grain of rice in my floor board. My lighter was used against me as a paraphanelia charge. I was taken to jail and sentenced to two weeks in jail, 20 hours AA, loss of liscense for 120 days, and $500 in fines. Since then my dad has bailed me out, but I still face many charges (up in the air right now). After all this has happened, I have really been into the legalization fight. Even thoughts of quitting my dad's successful company and moving to Canada have crossed my mind many times. Not just for weed, but for how unjust our governing system is. They made me feel like a criminal all for just taking home my friend. So yes, I now hope and pray every night that weed will become legal. I believe a lot will rely on Marc Emery's case in 07', because without him, I dont think that the fight will escalade as he has single handedly done himself. Free Marc!

| Marc Emery has said himself, that him being extradicted may actually help the cause rather than him being let off, as it would bring people together to protest and fight prohibition.

| To be fair its hard to say wether it will become legal or not, both in the usa and here in the UK. I think it has got slightly more chance of being legalized in the USA though

| Wow, 21+ years is the majority? I say laws will loosen in the next 5 years, they will get a lot softer and eventually, in the next 10 years it will be legalized. Once the younger generation starts having a lot more influence, it will fade away, we weren't raised with all the stuff our parents and grandparents were trying to pound into our heads that weed is an evil grass that hobos smoke because they can't get a job. It's pretty regular, I bet 90% of people my age (22) know someone who smokes and is totally fine with it. |
