i thought they would of areadly legalised it i mean tabacco legal and thats addictive so its worse so theres no grounds of its being 'bad for you' but i reckon America being capitiist pigs will evenutally allow it(no offence to america)

If the majority of Americans are still buying into the reefer madness devil grass bullshit in 10+ years, there's a real problem. Already with the spread of the internet, you can find just about any FACT that you want to know, so there's a very strong case for legalizing marijuana already based on facts. And if people are still too closed minded to say "fine, we were wrong" then I dunno that I would wanna stick around much longer. :\

I'm gonna vote the 12 yr option. It's starting to feel far more socially acceptable than it did when I started. It feels like a few states will be decriminalizing it fairly soon, and when enough do this, within a few more years (hopefully) the Feds will follow suit.

the government is stupid, marijuana isnt that bad, and if it were legal it would be even more safe, not to mention the money the government could make off of it they could use for schools and health, tax that shit son!

I don't think it will hit the 100 yr mark. Look at where it's gone.
1930s-1940s
people believed it caused murder

1950s it started being used more and people started to open their eyes and realize it's not related to murder, and the "starter drug" theory was forged from here

1960s Use increased by landmark amounts and legalization protests became popular, and Reagon's daughter grew it in back yard.

1970s Don't quote me on this but I believe use decreased (still to heavy popularity and you'd still have the sheriff's daughter sell weed from her locker (My 8th grade Science teacher told us about that) and people start to to study marijuana more

1980s "Just say No" was popular as the as America had it's worse epidemic since the 20s with crack cocaine and despite the use of marijuana going down during this time (tells you something about the "starter drug" theory).

1990s Use slowly decreases but the idea of Medical marijuana becomes more popular

2000 medical marijuana is made legal in California

2000s states decriminalize, legalize for medicinal reasons, and attempt to legalize.


I think by 2020 it will be legal and by the mid 2010s a state will legalize or a national decriminalization will occur. I also believe that legalization efforts will get as much media attention as Gay-Rights activists do now by 2010. Though, our efforts will be needed in doing so and the internet has to be one of the greatest things for marijuana legalization in a long time. This way our efforts will be united much more easily. Though, each one of us carries a heavy load, for anything we do wrong, will be a scar on the whole community.

We have to unite strenths sooner not later because the later we try the less of a foot hold we'll have.
