I take off the safety and sticker as soon as I can.

I need a fork, or something pointy to do it though, and if I don't have one, and have to smoke with a safety lighter, I get pissed off.

SOme of my friends will keep them on. But if I'm the one with the bud, I'll make sure they take them off before we smoke (if I don't have my own lighter).

Sometimes I will leave them on..
Id prefer to have it off so when I get really baked I can still easily use it.
Especially if its a mini bic.. I have big fingers.

What kind of lighters are you buying because everytime I buy a BIC (which is all I use), there's a safety.

Maybe its a canada thing, because I just head to the local walmart, grab a multi-pack at the checkout and then to go self checkout because you have to be 18 to buy them now... And yeah they are bics.

I always take them off, doesn't bother me at first but by the time I am wicked stoned I get pissed off by them, take 'em off my friends lighters too.

I've always taken the safety off every lighter I've ever had until the one I'm using now.

I didn't have my mutlitool with me that I always use to take the safety off when I got this lighter. It's almost empty now (I go through a bic lighter about every 2 to 3 weeks) so I probably won't take the safety off especially without a tool to do it. I used to use scissors to get them off but then I switched to pliers. It's really easy to take off if you just grab that little tab at the front by the spot where the flame comes out. But the only tool I have now is maybe a nail and a phillips screw driver...I wish I could find that damn multitool.

I usually carry a pocket knife, or my wife does, so it's no problem to pop that safety off right away...but more importantly, for some odd reason I'm sure you all will pick apart like a turkey dinner at tha Klumps, i can't use a lighter with that fucking warning sticker on it. I peel mine off, I peel my wife's off, i peel that damn sticker off of strangers that i borrow a light from if I get caught up in talking to them. I hate warning stickers, labels, etc. When did our world become so buffered and roundcornered?

Yeah, I always take them off. First thing I do after I leave the checkout line. I usually use a key and insert it in the flame hole, then use it as a lever to pry up those two little edges that face each other. Then it catches the end of that steel cylinder (the safety), and I just pry the bastard out. I also rip the sticker off. In the end, it gives the lighter a much cleaner look.

Have to take the safety off my lighters. its a pain in the ass if they are left un-touched, and the sticker has to come off too. Bic is the only lighter that i trust to light every time and they last forever!!! so yea... i flick my bic.
