The new BICs don't bother me I had to look to see that is was even there just now. The old ones with the plastic lever I always ripped off but then sometimes the lighter would leak.

Also I rarely use a lighter these days. VAPE!

I honestly was not aware one could easily remove the safety of a lighter and it'd still function.

Yep, they make it pretty easy now...before, they were built in, now they are just hooked in, so all you have to do is take a nail file and flip it out...

No, safeties don't bother me at all. They actually make lighting it easier, in my opinion.

Of course, I REALLY prefer djeeps, which have a little button in the back as a safety anyway.

Maybe you guys just shouldn't be fooling around with child-proof objects?

I find the very annoying. When Ive been bitting up some pot with my fingers, then light a lighter, my thumb kinda sticks to the safety. As soon as I leave the store, I rip them off with my keys.

I generally by 3-packs and use the gold flat thing to open home doors with to take it off; works like a charm!
