As I'm sure most know by now, Steve Irwin is dead and his death was caught on camera.

The producer has said that the tape will be destroyed per guidance of his family. Steve said:

Personally, I feel that if we are to be shown Steve owning nature, we should be allowed to be shown nature owning Steve.

OUt of general respect, I don't think it should be released. However, that most likely wouldn't stop myself from watching it if it were, because I'm twiztid like that. Curiosity is a bitch sometimes.

That was one of the things I discussed with my buddy that informed me of his death. I think that everything leading up to his death should be shown, but not his death by any means. That wouldnt be right to his family.

This tragic thing that happened to Mr. Irwin is why we've all been watching him all these years. We watched because there was a chance that something could go wrong.

This was that wrong, and we'll want it more than ever. Even if it's not released, it'll eventually make its way on to the Internet.

Admit it or not, it's what we wanted. It's why his ratings stayed high enough to keep him on TV.

I have no interest in seeing one of my childhood heros dying. Well he was more of a hero of my adolesence. I'm a big time biology and zoology guy. I actually watched him since the first time his show ever aired. I love animals more than Irwin did and I think it's incredibly disrespectful to view the ending of his life for my own entertainment. Even if the video was released there is no way I would watch it.

i think the video should be released but i probably wouldnt watch it.

It shouldn't in respect to his family, but I would def watch it. I watched those sickass beheading videos for crikey sakes.

And it won't find its way onto the internet. The producer's the one who has the video and he said he's gonna destroy it.

I think the tape should be released. If the family doesn't want it released I understand, but they could at least show the footage leading up to his death and just leave him getting killed out of it (even though thats the part most of us want to see). Who knows..maybe they should hire one of those psychics that talk to the dead and ask Steve himself.

I would definitely watch it. As a matter of fact I searched around a bit trying to find a clip of it yesturday to no avail. But the family does have the right not to let it out, just like when that Grizzly Man guy and his girlfriend got eaten by bears. They're keeping that audio under wraps also.
