...am I out of the loop or something? I thought we weren't supposed to talk about getting pets high. Maybe hypothetical situations are excluded from the rule?

Anyway, I'll be adopting a cat pretty soon (maybe this weekend or next weekend) from a shelter. If it's not a kitten (in which case I'll wait at least a year, so it's fully grown), I'll consider giving it a little shotgun and seeing how it reacts. I can't imagine a cat liking smoke, though... might as well just get the little fella his own stash (read: catnip).

Yeah bro^ I really can't see a cat liking smoke. My old cat really liked me but if I came in after a session he would run away from me because of the smell.

Or if he ever smells a dirty pipe or even a joint or just weed he'll freak out and run.

If I wanted to get him high it'd be nearly impossible without being extremely cruel.

If I blew a hit at him (which I never have), he'd dart.

My dog comes to me to get high.

She also knows she can get me to pet her or play soccer with her pretty easily when im high. She also gets more protective too.

i dont see it as wronge. id be a little more aprehensive if it were my dog but id probably still do it. but i wouldnt do it alot and if my dog seemed to not like it i wouldnt anymore. but if it doesnt hurt us, why would it hurt them.

You guys would be suprised about cats getting high. My dogs always run away from the smoke but as soon as I light up my cat always comes running. He just will sit as close as possible to the smoke and stare at it. All my friends think its hilarious but it sucks because if I leave weed out in the open or even the bag out in the open he'll always get at it.

My dog, Matt, is a 9 year old poodle and every once in a while he hurts his leg and cant walk without a limp. I dont think its wrong to get him high when he doesn't seem to mind it and after i get him high he walks alot better and acts like he isnt in as much pain!

thats a good point. i votes yes but i guess i probly wouldnt. only because i love animals and, ur right, we expect to get high and we kno whats up. but they have no idea whats goin on and they would probly be scared

We used to get my friends' mom's dog high all the time. I didn't get mine baked cuz she was too young, but her dog loved it. He was a big American Bulldog x Pitbull, and she got pissed whenever he went back out all slow, leanin a little and eyes bloodshot as hell. LoL... But he turned into the biggest baby, as soon as he was ripped he'd jump on someones lap and just chill there til the rotation got to them. It just sucked when he jumped on your lap...


That's exactly what he looked like (dunno what that site is, I just found this picture), weighed about 85lbs at least. Big ol' stocky bastard. My favorite dog I've ever known.

I said yes because, my cat used to seem like she wanted it. I would be getting blazed on the bed and she would come in, and sit and walk all over me while I was smoking, and keep doing it till I held up the joint for her and she would put her face in it and inhale. you could actually see the smoke go up her nose. Crazy as hell, but she would do it only once maybe twice a day. Never got my dog high though, she never seemed interested in it.
