I was skateboarding at a movie theater in the streets and I got hit by a van, Like the big white vans, and I broke 6 ribs, my collar bone, wrist, shattered knee cap, collapsed lung, and some internal bleeding. I was fucked for about 3 months, and I was on all of these painkillers that I really don't remember the first 5 months or so after it happened.

Very close. I went into heart failure when I was five years old.

Cool

well, back in 1989 while living in so. cali. I went swimming in laguna beach and soon after entering the water I found myself being swept out farther and farther from the shore. soon I was right in the middle of the waves breaking over the top of me, the more I tried to swim to shore the further out to sea I was going. the waves were between 6 and 10 foot and just kept crashing down on me,I felt like a rag doll being tossed around. finally I was able to swim out and away from the rip tide, and made it back to shore, this was one of many semi-private beaches so no one even noticed me in the water.

to this day I have not returned to swim in with the oceans currents.

I really thought I was going to die that day, and the thoughts that are racing through your mind are beyond explanation.

more recently, on Jan. 24th, I had a massive heart attack that struck while I was sleeping, it was a bone crushing pain in my chest and it actually woke me up from a sound sleep, I spent 3 days in the ICU.

it was an eye opening experiance, my doctor told me that most of the time in this sitsuation, the person usually just passes away in their sleep, and that I was very lucky it woke me up.

me and my friend james almost died once thinking we could traverse over these rapids in the perkiomen creek river
what happened was the water was so fast i fell tripped, hit my head on a rock and almost blacked out , my friend just kept on tumbling and drifting away down the river so i had to help him out with giant stick that was near by
when we finnally make it back to dry land , some cop starts yelling at us and telling us we arent allowed down there
i was not happy

I'm lucky enough to say that I've never felt close to death yet *knocks on wood....for real!* But I have been a passenger in a car accident. That's the worst thing that has ever happened to me.

imagine being punched in the head by a lineman for the raiders

I got knocked out by someone who weighed 300lbs give or take 5lbs. He hit me in the head i dont know which side, they said i was out for couple mins, never went to the hospital. finally got some spec scan revealing brain trauma adn i know i suffered a muscle injury to my rotarty cuff muscle and ther eis some bone/ligament deal with my neck/spine.

I'm lucky he didnt break my jaw or neck adn that i woke back up.

This is skating off-topic territory, but hopefully it will be tolerable. About one year back, my buddies and I were celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a dangerous (if mishandled) off-topic beverage. I ended up getting sick off the balcony (he lived on the 2nd floor), throwing my face over and spewing up on the grass below, and toppled over the edge, landing on my back. I was lucky... I could have fallen on my skull and done some real damage. As it was, I walked away with a sprained ankle and a compression fracture on my lower spine. Okay, maybe I didn't walk away... more literally, when I awoke, very confused and in pain, I hobbled my way back up the stairs and into the room to crash on the couch.

I've been in several car accidents, as well as a couple bike accidents requiring stitches. Other then that, no near death experiences for me.

a few years ago i was on my bike flying down this hill and the front end started getting a speed wobble and befor i knew it the front tire cut sideways and slingshot me into the pavement face first and i slid down the hill for like 30 feet befor rolling to a stop. the freinds that were with me at the time said my bike fliped up to tree top level befor coming back down about a foot away from me and slinding under the gard rail. i got 2 fake teeth cause of this.
