I haven't heard anything conclusive in the literature, but it's hard enough to get approval for substantial marijuana research on participants who can make their own decisions, much less for two. If I had to guess, I'd say the effects would be mostly neurological.

My buddys girlfriend wont even go near smoke or allow him to smoke because shes pregnant... its all good but himnot being aloud to smoke is really outta whack in my opinion

You're right. It is whacked. Just because she can't toke right now, doesn't mean he shouldn't be allowed to if he wants. (Not anywhere around here, though)

I would never have asked my husband to stop while I was pregnant. I was the one who was pregnant, not him.

When my friends girlfriend got pregnant she didn't stop smoking. When she was getting checked out at the doctors she asked about it and the doctor didn't really say anything negative. They have a very happy and healthy kid now, with another on the way.

I personally wouldn't want my BM to smoke while pregnant, and had I been created with two X chromosomes I defintely would abstain. Buuut my sister smoked pot during two of her three pregnancies (although she cut down a lot) and has three beautiful, intelligent girls.


Especially cigarettes.

Nicotine on its own is highly addictive, nevermind how many other effects the additives have. It's my belief that marijuana wouldn't affect a fetus as much as cigarettes. I emphasize as much in that I don't deny there are any effects.

i think the biggest thing with cigarettes is the smoke cuts off oxygen to the baby. so you would think it would be the same thing with weed. now i know there arent a lot of people (though there are some ) that smoke weed as much as people smoke cigs, so you would think toking every once in a while wouldnt be too bad.

I'm a girl, and i know that when its time for me to have a child, and I get pregnant, I will not smoke anything during pregnancy. I have already thought about it, and i would not take the chance and risk the health and well being of my child. I also will not drink coffee, and I will eat organic, healthy foods. What goes into your baby during pregnancy can effect its brain, nervous system, and everything else, and can leave damage forever. I know that if i was responsible for having somthing bad happen to my child, it would be very difficult for me to live with that. 9 months without marijuana, cigarettes, booze, or anything else potentially harmful is worth it...Its a personal choice though.

But, anyone who would choose cigarettes over their child has got some serious priority issues that they need to think through.
