| Hello all. I am a new to the message board so please forgive me if this was not the best forum to post this thread under. I am 20 years old and tennis has been a big part of my life ever since I could remember. I would say I picked up smoking regularly about 8 months ago and of course enjoy it very much. Other than weed, I very rarely drink and have never touched cigarettes. I haven't noticed any physical changes since I started smoking in terms of becoming tired more easily on the court or shortness of breath or anything like that, but I can't imagine smoking any substance, weed or not, as being a good thing if you in terms of running and stamina. I am worried that I am slowly harming myself athletically by continuing to smoke. I did a search on the topic and found a thread about a pot athlete but the thread wasn't really what I was looking for. Anyways, I was looking for some insight as to what people would recommend in my situation. I love smoking but if it is going to hold me back on the tennis court then I may have to make a choice I was hoping not to have to make. I know that it is certainly possible to be a great athlete and smoke weed but what I'm mainly worried about is weed holding me back from reaching my highest potential. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much! |

| Smoking in moderation will be absolutely fine. If you are already an athlete before you started smoking than you were probably in good condition. You see to be smoking in moderation, and don't drink alcohol too much or smoke cigarettes (good call ). By moderation I would mean after all your work/practice is done, somewhere safe, and not too much (maybe just on weekends, maybe everynight just before you go to bed, the question is How much do you smoke? How often?)I think you would be fine if you smoked in moderation, to be honest I've been smoking tough for about 3 years now and have always been a good long distance runner. My lung condition has deteriorated only slightly after countless bongloads of kief and I still am pretty active (although I have become quite a lazy stoner of late ).Good luck with the tennis dude, I play every once and a while with some friends. Usually stoned, but it's fun as hell making that little ball fly. Meh, I'm decent at best. edit; now that I think of it a good thing you might want to look into are vaporizers. They are actually much more efficient at giving you your moneys worth on the chronic albiet being pricey themselves, but from what I hear they pay for themselves within a few sacks. We even have a forum dedicated just to vaporizers!

| Thanks man I appreciate it. About the last few months or so I'd say I average about 2-3 grams a week. It varies as to whether I'm getting ready for a tournament soon or not. I smoke almost everyday now when at home. I only smoke after I'm done with tennis for the day, usually at night. I'll wake and bake maybe once or twice every couple of weeks if I don't have anything to do that day or the day after getting back from a tournament. I try not to smoke much in the day because I just end up wanting to smoke more and more every couple of hours haha. Thanks again for the post. |

| you could eat it or brew it or smoke kif or something that keeps your smoke exposure down. You might try vaporizng but I think teh evidence of the effect on your lungs is kind of shotty... you'll be fine though unless you are going to play at wimbeldon |

| I smoke daily and have been doing so for the past year and a half. I also play D2 Baseball and run 3 miles a day...ive yet to see any change in my health due to smoking pot. If your really that worried about it maybe u should invest in a vaporizer. Save up 400 bucks and buy yourself a Volcano...itll be the best investment you ever make ![]()

| I just started smoking a while ago and i play soccer for my high school. What I do was always remember not to smoke the day of a game. Worst thing to do ever. But so far it hasn't affected me at all, me and my friends use a pipe or a hooka. But basically just in moderation and it shouldn't really mess up athletics for you at all |

| i used to play soccer and water polo. i still play water polo but i have begun to notice how much smoking has affected me... but i've also been smoking at least 3 times a day for like the past 2 years.... as long as you smoke in moderation than it probably won't even affect u. wats even better is if u eat edibles or drink it... anythin to save ur lungs. |

| I play tennis tournaments also, and for varsity at my school. I've been smoking for a little over a year, and the only negative effect it has had on me is the countless number of crap i have eaten from the munchies, but i work that much harder in my fitness sessions to stay in shape. |

| Maybe you could smoke out of a vaporizer, its is probably the healthiest way to smoke. |
