I always hold in my smoke as long as i can, but ive heard that all the THC and other products are absorbed into the lungs in milliseconds, rendering holding the smoke useless.
Thoughts?

3-5 seconds I hear, I'd say hold it in for at least 3, then blow it out. Holding it in is pointless, and plus it looks way lamer when you hold it in forever and then blow out a bit of remaining smoke, versus absorbin all that THC and then unleashing a milky exhale for all your friends to partake of and be wowed.

From everything I've read, holding it in 3-5 seconds is completely sufficent

i also tend to try to hold it in longer if its a big toke.i do it more with bongs.
i usally just hold it in till it feels right.usally like 4-6 seconds i don't count the time as i hold in each toke though....

i have some friends that hold it in forever......
and one of them holds hits in till he gets an oxygen dep head rush........

i try to tell them but they don't really listen.whatever, its thier body.

Yeah, NEVER hold it in any longer than you have to. One kid I know had a "guide" saying to hold it in some 30-45 seconds, which he did. He's also the only guy I know who coughs up a lung EVERY time he takes a hit, because the lungs are trying to kick out the smoke that's been in there for so long.
