You shouldn't have to, if it was true love they wouldn't try to change you.

That being said, my current gf did ask then when my drug tests end and I get out of jail I cut back on how much I smoke, but that's only because I used to blaze all day from morning to night every day, and she's scared her rents willl find out and hate me even more :P. But I probably should smoke less anyway, so it's all good.

Personally I think there is a difference between asking someone to stop; and asking them to cut back. I've been after my husband for years to quit smoking cigarettes. He switched to pipe smoking and cut down significantly.

It's all about compromise.

i agree i think that you should not force your signifigant other but ask them to cut back, as long as it is not affecting the person in his or her day to day life
