I suggest that when you first see your doctor and he or she is making a diagnosis, asking you questions and such, let him/her know that you are withholding a bit of information, but you will share in the future. A mental health specialist will/should allow you to disclose things at your own pace. That way you can wait a while and see if you think the doctor would have an unnecessarily negative reaction.

I used to see a counselor myself and I was on Prozac for a while. After about a year I realized that I just needed somebody to talk to, so I quit going and threw my pills away. They did their job; I wasn't crying for no reason anymore and I haven't had that problem since. I decided that the anger I felt was valid. Of course, you would know better than I would, but it is possible that it is just a phase, if you'll pardon the cliche.

well, to be fair, i do live in a college town, so he sees a lot of college kids (myself being one) so i figure he already knew what was up i try and be upfront with my doctors when i can, i always tell them that i drink when they ask, even though i'm underage (21 in 1.5 months though babyyyy ), but this doc was the first that i told i was a marijuana user. i do really appreciate that he just rolls with it instead of trying to change it.

Doctors are a mixed bag. They don't all have the same information, education, or attitudes. Sometimes finding a good one can be like trying to find a good, honest mechanic for your car-difficult.
