How about all the threads in the religion forum that already have this discussion started?

here is an interesting fact. "Those who use marijuana daily tend not to see the importance of religion or community service." Got that from an online course called Marijuana 101 that i had to take for being caught at my college.
Personally i do not believe jesus was the messiah, and i really never have since i was about 13 (right around the time i was confirmed in the methodist church ironically).

Nope. Many people were crucified claiming to be the son of a god before this particular one. He had a lot of good things to say, and was probably a genuine fellow - but I don't think he was the only messiah from the spirit realm, if one at all.

I hope you were joking about this being a FACTUAL fact. This is 100000000 percent wrong. I see the value of organized religion, although not being committed myself, I believe in an incomprehensible spiritual world ie way above our miniscule mortal minds.

Religion provides faith, which can produce happiness and meaning in a seemingly meaningless world. Religions although evil is sometimes done - good is accomplished too, it provides moral obligations and passion to the passionless even if the social norms and expectations of a particular religion are detrimental towards individuality, personal happiness, and the progression of society. The (mostly positive, albeit some negative) power it instills in billions across our planet is undeniable...

I have done, and occasionally still do community service - I have volunteered at the disc golf course, pioneers home, and the humane society, I like it and I really do see it as a valuable donation of time towards my community.

I'm was just saying what the class told me, and i personally believe it. Why would they just make that fact up. The class didnt really say anything bad about, just lists facts about it and whatnot. It didnt say all people, it just said people are more likely not to find it important. Its probably not that it makes people less interested it, its that people that are less interested in it tend to use it. Just a thought.

To propagate lies and give false information so the public has a construed misconception of marijuana smokers so the war on drugs has validity.

I think that's a load of bull. It's silly how people put up false information, and percentages out of their asses to persuade you to their beliefs, their view. It's just silly.

...I don't take that as fact at all. It's merely someones point of view. Many of the smokers I know put importance in religion and especialy community service !
