It's a simple question...you either love 'em or hate 'em.

I happen to enjoy them...the mRs hates 'em. I really don't know a lotta people who DO enjoy them...so let's find out!

Nooooo way.. It's one Christmas tradition I will never partake in. One thing I do enjoy is cake with gum drops (similar shape to fruit cakes, but gum drops instead). Delicious

You know, I don't know if I have ever actually had fruit cake. I am thinking hard her, maybe once - but I can't recall really....

I would try it, I like fruity things, and I love cake - so I don't see how it could go wrong. However, I have heard most people don't like them. I'm looking at a few pictures of them on the internet and they look fucking dank to me;



I'm gonna have to make a point of getting one. I will have to buy it myself since everyone in my family hates it as well.

First of all, that foil-wrapped crap you get from the grocery store or Swiss Colony is exactly that: CRAP
That's the shit that you want to use as a doorstop or bury out back as soon the relative that gave you this atrocity leaves.

A real homemade fruitcake is to die for.
When my mom made fruitcakes, she'd steep them in some liquor (rum, usually) for at least a month. The best ones would soak in amaretto or cognac.

If you don't like raisins and dates, you're not going to like fruitcake, plain and simple.
Although chances are if you don't like fruitcake, you've probably never had a good fruitcake.

Nope, don't like fruitcake. I always thought that's what you get people you really don't care for but you have to be polite...you know like a co-worker when you do the secret santa thing. I have never done that myself but have heard of people doing that. I have never tried any homemade though. But I really don't think I will like it anyway as I don't like dates.

Is it really that bad?! I've never had it but wow people seem to abhor fruitcake. It's cake, it's fruit...sounds okay to me? I'm seriously debating going to the Shopper's and getting one right now just so I can partake in the drama
