it may be one of the most widely used materials in the world, but who expects to see a big leaf on a bottle of shampoo in a Sally's beauty salon? I'd have been shocked too.

That`s pretty much my point, though: we`ve been sensitized to an entirely inert and massively useful material. What reason for this irrationality other than under-education and misinformation? Were it not for its criminalisation, who`s to say that the distinctive pot-leaf wouldn`t be associated as a brand with every day-uses: culinary; clothing; oils and bath-products etcetera?

Sugar-roasted hemp-seed works fantastically in a salad. In fact, you know those heat-sealed bags you get in supermarkets filled with fresh basil or flat-leaf parsley, why the hell not marijuana? I love the taste of marijuana and I`m sure I`m not the only one who`d like easy, legal access to fresh marijuana leaves for cooking with.

I do argree with you on some points. I do believe that it's disrespectful and kinda wrong to tell someone how to do something a certain way during a smoking circle.

I have learned that MANY people are committed to the fact that they know more about the Marijuana culture than others. In my opinion you cannot really know more about a culture than someone else that practices it. Sure we all learn our tricks of the trade and when needed give advice and guidance. However, I have encountered many smokers that actually believe they know more about smoking in general. They Believe that they are an all knowing being in regards to Marijuana. It’s really a disrespectful thing to do to try and tell someone “how to smoke”. everyone has their own special way of doing things. Some take little tokes, some big, some quick, some drawn out, some hold in long, some exhale like cigarette smoke. It’s all about preference. I refer to Marijuana as a culture because to me that’s what it basically is. Something to celebrate, enjoy, but most of all respect. You would not tell someone how to wipe their ass, or eat their food, so please don’t feel obligated to tell people how they should smoke. Its all about preference….

i agree with telling people how to smoke isnt cool but i also agree that someone with more smoking experience might now more about it than a younger smoker(younger in terms of how many years smoking) however some people learn faster than others i think complicating the simplicity of marijuana is a not cool at all but if you feel you have a reason by all means have fun

Less experienced smokers are always asking old timers' advice on all kinds of things on these forums. Cultural knowledge and norms are always passed down from older and more experienced members of a society to those just coming up.

If everyone miraculously knew everything about marijuana the day they started toking, websites such as this would cease to be necessary. Hopwever, daily, questions that seem as basic as breathing (or sometimes, the question actually IS "How to you inhale?" which is a LOT like asking someone how to breath) to some of us are asked by newbie smokers. As much as many rookie smokers would LIKE to think they know everything about marijuana, the simple fact is that knowledge is gained through experience and research, and it only stands to reason that someone who has been smoking and learning about weed for years is going to be more knowledgable and experienced than someone who took their first toke yesterday. Thats not to say age= superior knowledge either, because I've ran across plenty of "old timers" that didn't know much of anything about weed aside from the fact it gets them high. By and large though, stoner wisdom builds over time. As much as the newest newbie thinks he knows about marijuana, its not going to compare to someone who has had marijuana play an important role in their life for many years. Like it or not, the 50 yr old who has been learning, growing, buying, selling, and most importantly, smoking weed for 35 years is likely considerably "weed wiser" than your neighbor who has read a handful of articles on the net and suddenly thinks he is Tommy Chong.
