Nope.

I could die tomorrow, I could die in 80 years. When I realize this it just makes me that much more thankful for the time I have on Earth, and makes me want to spent the rest of it to it's utmost potential.

Knowing when I was going to die would result in my life being a literal countdown, and that would hardly be fun, now would it?

So I thought about this for a minute - excuse me if this is turbo posting, I sincerely apologize but because of pkster8235's post I came to this;

If you were to know the exact time of your death, couldn't you prepare for your demise? It only seems reasonable if let's say, June 13, 2038 is your death-date, on that day you lock yourself up in a completely safe room and wait it out? I don't see how anything would kill you, unless 'fate evolves'...

It sounds like some Final Destination type shit to me, bro.....

An old story goes that the devil picked a bum off the sreet and told the bum if he gave Satan his immortal soul, Satan would give the bum anything he wanted for the rest of his life.

The bum only thought a second before he agreed and with a flourish the devil produced a contract and with shaking hands the bum signed away his soul.

"Now", said the bum, "I want to be clean, freshly shaved and a new suit of clothes."

The devil snapped his fingers and the bum was tranformed into a true gentleman.

"Now, I want a pocket full of money everytime I reach in to get some."

"It is done", said the devil,

The bum reached in his coat for a cigarette and thumbed it to life. "Nice doing business with ya, Satan. I'll be seeing ya, huh?"

The bum walked into street, humming to hisself, and then the bus hit him. Death was instantaneous.

The funeral director was happy. Seems the bum had just enough money in his pockets to pay for his funeral......

One of the problems with being older and having limited means is that you tend to squeeze each nickel until it screams for fear that you'll run out of funds before you die.

I'd love to have a new car. I'd love to take a trip around the world. I have plenty of money to do both those things. I don't because I could live another 30 years and might have a pressing need for that money later on. If I knew when I was going to die, I could set things up so that my last nickel and my last breath expire at the same time.

Precisely. If we knew when we would die, the world can be at your fingertips. We've been taught to save our money in case of emergencies, and then many of us die with most of it still in your bank accounts, only for our family to fight over who gets what, and to pay for our own funeral.

It reminds me of The Bucket List. If you knew you were going to die, it would seem silly not to live life to the fullest. Now you always think "There's always tomorrow", but if you knew there was no tomorrow, it would most likely change your philosophy a bit.

Yes, I would like to know. I'd go out in one hell of a show.

They would put a short segment on the world news.
