My friend and I were arguing over it and he just kept pushing his point that if nothing takes place between men, it can't be gay and furthermore he kept saying who knows how many straight guys you see walking down the street with their gf, having a dildo by their nightstand at home

He's giving alot of credit to anal play not having anything to do with being gay which I think is stupid, because obviously anal play has SOMETHING to do with being homesexual, doesn't it?

My friend ultimately says since we don't have any studies or research we shouldn't even have opinions on it.

Nope. Anal intercourse doesn't define you as gay, last I checked homosexuality's definition was : "A person who is attracted to individuals of the same gender."

You don't even have to have sex with the opposite sex to be gay. I am not gay, but I know what an attractive male looks like. I find it completely logical to be attracted to a man, why must it always be x+y=love? Honestly, I find it commendable to be attracted to the same sex, your being who you want to be, and saying 'fuck all those constraining social constructs'. I dunno, thats just my 2 cents.

Honestly though, I hate the term homosexual, it implies deviant sexual behavior - it's a cultural creation. All over the world, languages have words for someone who encompasses both the male and female properties, usually this is viewed as a Godlike attribute - yet in the Western world, we don't even have a word for such a thing (hell, we can't even GRASP it) except those that imply deviant sexual behavior; transgender, transvestite, heshe, 'it', faget, etc.

I don't see what is 'disturbing' about a man loving another man at all. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with that? Or what is disturbing about anal intercourse in general. People stigmatize it all the time, yet oral sex always get's the thumbs up - this seems illogical to me (even though I find nothing wrong with either) - would you rather put your wang (or hypothetically receive another's) in something you eat fresh food out of - or stick it in something with no taste buds?

What these boys are really being taught is the 'ins and outs' of shitting blood. I don't know, right of passage? This kind of reminds me of this movie, Maya, I recently saw. It's in subtitles and takes place in India. It has nothing to do with homosexuality per se but has to do with the Samurai. Basically, the movie follows around a brother and sister who are very young. The movie has a very innocent feel to it. Then, BAM, this girl gets her first period and is forced to "become a woman." She is told by her mother that it is now time for her to be taken to a temple where 5 "priests" have sex with her (this is supposedly an ancient ceremony that is performed by some Hindus). She is crying and screaming the whole time. It was VERY disturbing (and I didn't see it coming, which made it worse).

Basically, my point is, these "ceremonies" are ridiculous. How does having a shlong thrown in you by a samurai prepare you for adult-hood? To me, this is a constraining social construct. To become a samurai, you are pretty much forced to experience it. If you're an open-minded person and want to try it, it should be your choice. Can't I become a Samurai without having a dong up my out-hole?

Ambiguous means having more than one meaning. Besides, their is nothing sexual about it.

I can be a straight male and encompass female properties without being ambiguous, or homosexual - I would just be transcending gender - we don't have any words like this that don't imply negative connotations.

Why are they ridiculous? They aren't part of YOUR culture, so of course it's going to seem odd for you, that's called being ethnocentric, of course you wouldn't approve of it.
